The Apple Watch Series 9 is Apple's second most expensive watch after the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Both watches are scheduled to be released in the fall of 2023, and for a limited time, the Series 9 is discounted below the price during Black Friday. An extremely brief sale via Best Buy (running until 1 a.m. ET on May 23), featuring the 45mm GPS + Cellular Exercise Ring Series 9 and four months of free Apple Fitness+ for a discounted price of $389 USD (original price $529), discounted to $140. After looking at price comparison tools, this is the lowest price I've seen for a Series 9.

Like most tech products, the Apple Watch comes in a base model ( SE ), a mid-range model (Series 9), and a high-end model ( Ultra 2 ). But the Series 9 is arguably the best value for money, with many premium features and design, while being closer to the SE price than the Ultra 2.
The Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 made headlines in January for having their blood oxygen feature disabled, even though you probably didn't need the feature. If you buy a Series 9 from Best Buy, you'll likely get one with blood oxygen capabilities—so far, only the Apple Store has stopped selling these models (the Best Buy product page still lists the feature as available). There's no indication that Apple will remove the feature via a software update for those who already have it, or find a way to get it from third-party stores before stock runs out.
Since this is the GPS + Cellular version, you don't need to hold your iPhone close to your Apple Watch to answer calls or send messages; you can leave your iPhone behind while running. The aluminum casing is cheaper than the stainless steel model, and the 45mm screen is suitable for those who prefer a larger screen than the 41mm screen.
