I wear men's underwear and this is what happens

As someone who has worn and loved just about every type of women's underwear, I'm pretty outspoken when it comes to my opinions on panties, bras, and lingerie in general. Of course, the idea of delving into the world of men's underwear has always excited me, but I've never really had the chance to try it. Recently, my curiosity was piqued and I decided to go somewhere I'd never been: wear men's underwear for a week.

What if, instead of reaching for a clean thong after I get out of the shower, I reach for a pair of boxer briefs? How does wearing lingerie that is so associated with the opposite sex affect my own body image or comfort or ability to feel sexy? Will I fall completely in love with boxer briefs, give up my lace weapons, and choose to break the gender binary in the lingerie world? I just want to find out.

Even though it didn't seem that way, I was still a little hesitant. But without making any changes to my daily routine, just avoiding my stash of women's underwear and reaching for men's underwear, I was able to discover some interesting, surprising, and sometimes surprising things about men's underwear Even something disappointing.

this survey

There are many different types of women's underwear. Let’s be honest, there are probably too many types of women’s underwear. Briefs, boxers, thongs, low-waisted bikinis, high-waisted bikinis, thongs: the list could go on forever. But when it comes to men's underwear, there are really only three main options. (No, unfortunately the Banana Hammock is not one of them.) But I'm not going to just throw away my 21 years of experience. So I did what any millennial would do and asked men on social media what their underwear habits were like.

My friend McCord told me directly on Twitter:

"Some people need room to breathe, but I just have a pair of tight shorts that are great for hiking. Like, boxers which have a lot of room, but so aren't great for running or anything like that. I usually go for boxers or something like that ”

A win for boxer briefs! My friend Danny added:

"Boxer briefs are more comfortable. They hold everything in place, they look more durable, and they don't come with all these weird patterns like boxers do. And I'm not a kid anymore, you know? They're super soft and stay in place Proper placement makes them easier to wear."

Hmm , interesting print comment.

My SO Jay literally puts his boxers in front of others and he told me:

"They're great because they give me the support of a brief, but the comfort of a boxer brief. Plus, they come in different designs and shapes, so they're not necessarily as tight as a brief or as baggy as a boxer brief ”

Armed with my newfound knowledge, I began my experiment with nothing but a pair of boxer briefs.

first day

Out of sheer anxiety, the day I started my experiment I wore regular women's underwear underneath my men's boxer briefs. In retrospect, this wasn't a particularly smart idea. The moment I had my doubts about the safety of men's underwear, I thought about comfort. But I soon realized that wearing two pairs of underwear underneath my sparkly pants wasn't necessarily the best thing that had ever happened to me.

The boxer briefs fit me fine and fit me well, but the straps on the legs were so tight that I kept them on all day . Plus, the waist is so high that every time I reach up, you can see my boxers peeking out from above my pants. As a result, my pants hung much lower than my hips all day because the belt couldn't find its way to my waist. sigh .

the next day

The next day, being a lazy person, I didn't really change and just walked around the house in a pair of men's boxer briefs, leaving only for the gym. Since my pink boxers were peeking out from under my gym shorts, I had to wear a pair of bike shorts to hide them. Let's put it this way: Working out with three layers of clothing on your hips isn't the best idea either.

The boxer briefs bunched up around my crotch and made me feel very uncomfortable. When I got home I found the big camel toe and I blushed seeing it under my gym clothes. What a surprise .

The third day

On the third day, I finally felt brave enough to try a real boxer. As you can see, I chose my outfit very carefully. I wore a skirt to avoid boxer briefs bunching up under my clothes, which was especially important since I wanted to experiment with as much anonymity as possible at work. Additionally, I had to roll up the fabric around the waistband to prevent them from showing under my skirt. Other than that, boxer briefs are very comfortable.

When I got home, took off my skirt and went out to play, my appreciation for them only grew. These boxer shorts are as comfortable as my pajama pants and are the perfect way to relax with a glass of wine after a long day at work. ah .

Day 4

Day four was very similar as I tried regular underwear. Guys, I have a lot more to say about panties.

Honestly, they feel like women's briefs, but really, really big . Imagine you're wearing a pair of granny panties that are three sizes too big: this is what it's like to wear men's briefs. Day four went well, I wore my underwear under my gym shorts. I barely noticed them on me all day, and it was only when I went to the bathroom that I remembered I was wearing a pair of men's underwear. However, by the end of the day, the thickness of the panties rubbed too much against my skin.

fifth day

While my first day with the boxers was great, I think I gave them too easy a day. Pairing a skirt with any type of underwear is easy because skirts are generally looser and more flowy than other garments. However, on the fifth day, I slipped straight into my boxers and then my black skinny jeans.

Every time I went to the bathroom I had to readjust my boxers back into my pants. Even when I wear high waisted jeans, their straps peek out from above my jeans. Since I'm in a fairly professional work environment, I have to be very careful to tuck my boxer briefs back into my pants and avoid tilting them.

Going shopping afterward is probably not a good plan either. Once again, I've had issues with butt bumps on all the clothes I've tried. I hate bumpy but.

So is it worth it?

While I'm excited to experience the "masculine" world of lingerie, it's not something I would do again. As I said before, lingerie is a personal subject and everyone is entitled to have different and unique feelings about it. For me, it all comes down to comfort. I like to feel as smooth as possible under my clothes, and none of these men's briefs do that for me.

Of course, there are moments that shine—like the ease of wearing a full set of boxer shorts while wandering around the house with a bottle of Moscato. But in the future, I will wear traditional underwear like before. Maybe it's my reproductive organs. Maybe it's because I don't like showing off my underwear. Or maybe it's because I'm bored. But frankly, the choice to stick with classic women's underwear is entirely mine.

I'll probably keep those boxer briefs, though. You know, just in case.
