Zendaya wears bejeweled mini dress from Challenger poster

"Contenders" is already in theaters to the confusion and delight of audiences, but Zendaya's stylish fun with the film isn't over yet. Her support for the tennis comedy took the most direct form: She wore the movie poster as a dress.

movie poster mini skirt

Zendaya's longtime stylist Law Roach shared the outfit on the Internet on April 27, when he posted a photo of her wearing it on social media. This bejeweled bell-sleeved sheath dress, custom-made by designer Celia Kritharioti, features a Challengers poster printed on the front. As you may remember, this poster depicts Zendaya's face while watching a tennis match, where her character is Tashi Duncan.

The level of detail is impressive. Her co-stars Josh O'Connor and Mike Feist are reflected in her sunglasses, along with the names of the three stars and director Luca Guadagnino above the film's title. Roach also posted a photo from the making of the dress, which gives an idea of how intricate it was. Perhaps its most glorious perspective, though, is when it sparkles in the lights, which he demonstrates in a brief clip at the end of the carousel.

"@challengersmovie but make it fashionable... Tashi made her wear it," Roach wrote in his caption. “Thank you @celiakritharioti for bringing the Challengers movie poster to life.”

Tennis seeks victory

Zendaya has been rocking tennis-inspired looks in the weeks leading up to her theatrical debut on "Contenders" on April 25. Her press tour outfit featured lots of white and green, pleated skirts and collared tops, an overt homage to Tashi's favorite sport. Simply put, Zendaya's serve is consistent.

Her movie poster dress isn't her first Challenger outfit designed by Kritharioti. The designer also designed the neon green halterneck dress with a plunging neckline and tennis ball detail that Zendaya wore to the afterparty for the premiere in Los Angeles on April 16. Kritharioti wrote on Instagram at the time that she was "so happy" to see her that the dress was "my favorite" and that she was honored to collaborate with Roach on the dress.

It's hard to say goodbye to the Challenger era, but at least we'll always have the memories.
