Get giddy, you guys—Beyoncé is about to put cowboys in the Cowboy Cat . On March 27, just two days before the release of her new album, the singer seemingly unveiled the tracklist and teased a new take on the Dolly Parton classic.
Judging from the pictures Beyoncé posted on Instagram, she appears to be performing a cover of Parton's 1973 hit "Jolene." Parton may also appear on the album, as the image contains a shout-out to "Dolly P." However, it's unclear if this is confirmation of a collaboration, a completely separate song title, or just a nod to the "Jolene" cover.
While it's not confirmed whether each name and phrase on Bey's graphic is a song title (or could be a possible interlude), each word could represent one of the themes or even specific lyrics from Cowboy Carter . Needless to say, Hive pulled out its magnifying glass and looked at some of the most interesting titles, including "II Most Wanted," "Spaghettii," and "Flamenco."
Elsewhere on the album, Beyonce appears to team up with another country legend, Willie Nelson, on a song called "Smoke Hour" and pays homage to a black country pioneer via "The Linda Martell Show" pay tribute. Fans also suspected she might perform a cover of The Beatles' "Blackbird" - stylized as "Blackbird" in homage to Cowboy Carter 's "Second Act" of her three-act project.
Parton previously joked that Bay might have a "Jolene" spin on Cowboy Carter . "I think she's already recorded 'Jolene,' and I think it might be on her country album, which I'm really excited about," she told Knox News on March 11. "I love her! She's a beautiful girl and a great singer."
The country icon also congratulated Bay when "Texas Hold Em" topped the Hot Country Songs chart, making her the first black female artist to do so. "I'm a huge Beyoncé fan and so excited for her to make a country album," she wrote on Instagram. "Congratulations on your #1 Billboard Hot Country Single. Can't wait to hear the full album! Love you, Dolly."
