The best memes and tweets about chocolate tortillas being discontinued

This is the official end of an era. For those of you who have a particular taste for ice cream trucks, you probably already know what I'm talking about. The Klondike classic dessert Choco Taco has officially been discontinued. There are sighs of longing from sweet-toothed people everywhere.

For those unfamiliar, the Choco Taco is part of the Klondike dessert combo, which includes vanilla ice cream and chocolate swirls in a sugar cone (shaped like a tortilla shell), finished with milk chocolate and chopped peanuts. It tastes similar to chicken drumsticks but has a unique shape. Chocolate tacos are sold in single packs from ice cream trucks or gas station freezers, or in boxes of four at grocery stores.

Klondike released the following statement to Bustle:

Unfortunately, the Klondike Choco Taco 1-piece and 4-piece packs have been discontinued. Over the past two years, our product portfolio has experienced an unprecedented surge in demand and very difficult decisions have had to be made to ensure nationwide availability of our entire product portfolio. A necessary but unfortunate part of this process is that we sometimes have to stop making a product, even a product as beloved as the Choco Taco. We know this can be extremely disappointing, but we hope you'll try our other great products including Klondike cones, milkshakes, sandwiches and of course our signature bars sold nationwide.

It’s no surprise that people on the internet are ruined. Many people shared their fondest memories of eating chocolate tacos (I was one of them, always eating chocolate tacos at football championships), and others shared their frustrations. For the most part, users on Twitter expressed how bummed they were that chocolate chip tacos no longer exist — even though they don't even eat them regularly, on a nostalgic basis.

One Twitter user shared a video of a little boy screaming in the corner of a room with the caption "I found out the chocolate tacos were discontinued even though I can't remember the last time I had one "It's totally an emotion.

Others shared their reactions to why Choco Taco is trending on Twitter.

Some people strategized how to get their hands on the last few chocolate chip tortillas in stock before they were completely taken off the shelves.

@ReallyCoolJohn shared another food wonder why stores still sell some weird baked goods instead of chocolate tacos. Seriously, who's buying Snoballs? !

One user considered the discontinuation of chocolate tortillas to be another sad fact about today's world, along with current gas prices — although not being able to buy the sweet tortillas is arguably worse.

User @abbythetweet shared their disappointment while also admitting that they had just discovered what Choco Taco was: "There's nothing scarier than finding out what Choco Taco is the same day you know it's been discontinued." Is life really fair? ? "

No matter your connection to chocolate tacos, you can admit that losing something so nostalgic to a thousand-year-old culture always tugs at your heartstrings. You know what they say, if you like something just let it go. After all, when you're craving something sweet, you can always order a Drumstick or Klondike Bar.
