On Thursday night, Saturday Night Live released its weekly promotional trailer, which highlights its upcoming hosts and musical guests. This week, Jake Gyllenhaal will host the show's season finale for the third time, alongside first-time showrunner Sabrina Carpenter.
Fans were quick to notice that Carpenter appeared alongside her close friend Taylor Swift's infamous ex-boyfriend (you know, the one who kept her old scarves in a drawer at his sister's house). Turns out, it's a small world after all—even for celebrities.
As fans anxiously speculated whether this week's episode of Saturday Night Live would tease the stars' mutual acquaintance, Carpenter gave them a heads up when she appeared in a promo wearing the "cutest" pale pink sheer look. Some other topics. Top and matching miniskirt.
Sabrina's trailer looks
There's plenty of laughter in the video, which features "Saturday Night Live" actor Bowen Yang alongside this week's guest. Carpenter looked adorable in a delicate satin organza top by designer Thom Browne that was "just" sheer enough to show off the white bra she was wearing underneath.
The "Espresso" singer paired a structured crop top with a matching pleated miniskirt (also from Thom Browne), which felt like a major nod to this spring's ubiquitous Challenger tennis trend.
On the beauty front, she complimented her look with pink blush and lilac lips, and wore her blonde tresses pulled back into a messy bun.
Sabrina's first Met Gala
"Saturday Night Live" won't be Carpenter's first public appearance (and it definitely won't be her last). Looking back at 2022, the singer made her Met Gala red carpet debut wearing a shimmering gold two-piece suit by designer Paco Rabanne.
This year, she returned to the red carpet again wearing a blue velvet Oscar De La Renta gown with a baby blue bubble skirt. If one thing is for sure, it's that she never misses a big moment.
We're one day away from her SNL appearance and I can't wait to see what she wears next. As for what else happens on Saturday night? Stay tuned, Sweeties.
