Yandex Mail is a free email service that offers unlimited online mail storage. Features such as message templates, reminders, e-cards and keyboard shortcuts make Yandex Mail an attractive alternative to services like Gmail.
The information in this article applies to the web version of Yandex Mail. The Yandex Mail mobile apps for Android and iOS support many of the same features.
In addition to rich text formatting options, Yandex Mail also includes e-card templates. You can also save the email you compose as a template. There's even a built-in translator that automatically converts the messages you compose into other languages.
When you send an email, you can tell Yandex Mail to view replies. If five days pass without a response, we will remind you to follow up if necessary. Yandex Mail lets you schedule emails to be sent later (up to less than a year in advance). This way, you can make sure your birthday emails always arrive on time.
Yandex Mail also offers a wide selection of free custom themes to add personality to your inbox.
While the search tool lacks built-in operators and sophisticated filters, Yandex Mail supports folders and tags to help you sort your messages. Using filters, you can set Yandex Mail to automatically perform tasks, such as deleting certain messages and sending automatic replies. Keyboard shortcuts help you operate Yandex Mail more efficiently.
Yandex Mail allows you to attach any file, up to 22 MB for a single file and 30 MB in total per email. You can also insert links into files uploaded to the Yandex Disk cloud service, which increases the limit to 2 GB per file.
For attachments you receive, Yandex Mail provides a convenient document viewer that displays Microsoft 365 and Office documents and PDF files in the browser. When you select a supported attachment, it will open in a separate window. Select "Save to Yandex Disk" to store it in the cloud.
Yandex Mail scans all incoming mail for spam, phishing, and malware. You can also block senders manually. As with other email programs, some non-spam emails may sometimes be sent to the spam folder.
Yandex Mail does not offer two-factor authentication for enhanced security, but detailed activity logs can detect suspicious activity. You can even log out of the remote client from the web interface.
You can forward your Yandex Mail messages to other email programs and connect your account to other email clients via POP or IMAP.
