Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith had a 'perfect' Thanksgiving as a family

Jada Pinkett Smith broke the bombshell news in October that she and husband Will Smith had been "living completely separate lives" since 2016. This Thanksgiving, “being apart” looks more like “being together.” On November 24, Will and Jada both shared photos from their family reunion.

"A perfect Thanksgiving," she wrote. "I hope you are too." Her post included a slideshow of two photos taken by photographer Alan Silfen, showing the estranged couple with their two children Willow and Jaden Smith, along with Will's ex-wife Sheree Zampino, their son Trey Smith and other family members celebrated the occasion.

Will shared more photos from the photo shoot in his post. "Best Thanksgiving ever!" he wrote. He added that one of the photos shows "mum with her 9 grandchildren!!" In it, you can see his mother, Caroline Bright, surrounded by his three children and their table Surrounded by brothers and sisters.

Jada's mom, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, shared her own fond memories from the family celebration in the comments of Jada's post. Many followers of the estranged couple were delighted to see the whole family together. "Aw, love these," podcaster Jay Shetty commented on Jada's post. He and actress Debbie Allen both sent multiple heart emojis to their families, as did countless others. However, some users said they were confused by the couple's unconventional relationship. "I'm so confused about your life!" one wrote. Another fan added: "Looks like a married couple to me, not an estranged couple."

"Completely separate lives"

In early October, Jada opened up about her relationship with Will while promoting her new memoir, Worth It . The couple's separation made headlines after Today dropped a preview clip of her interview with Hoda Kotb. Jada compared their situation to a divorce but explained that they weren't "ready" to take that step or share it with the public. As she puts it, they're "still trying to figure out how to create a partnership between the two of us."

Both Jada and Will have made it clear that they still care deeply about each other in the days since she revealed the truth. He wrote a letter to Jada for Shetty to read on the Oct. 16 episode of his podcast , On Purpose with Jay Shetty . "If I had read this book 30 years ago, I would have hugged you more. I'm starting now," he wrote. Before signing off, he added: "I love you forever." The news left Jada emotional, who noted that's why she "can't divorce that clown."
