Proton Pass launches new secure link that can be shared with anyone

There may be many valid reasons for you to want to share your personal, private information with your spouse, family members, or friends, but doing so through typical messaging services or email isn't always a good idea.

However, privacy-focused company Proton offers you a new way to securely share passwords, bank details and other highly sensitive information called Secure Links.

These secure links let you copy and paste unique links that expire to share login information, bank cards, private notes and more, all protected by Proton's reliable end-to-end encryption. You can also manage all of these links from a central dashboard, which means you'll be able to control who gets what and for how long.

The new secure link will be rolled out starting Friday to everyone with a Proton Visionary or Lifetime plan. Soon, though, anyone with a paid Proton Pass plan will be able to use Secure Links.

Additionally, Proton is making a one-year Pass Plus for $12 for a limited time, so you can take advantage of new features, but also get access to unlimited data vaults, Hide My Email Aliases, Dark Web Monitoring, and the company’s Proton Sentinel has a security program with integrated 2FA authenticator. However, this special offer ends on July 21st, so be sure to jump in now.

The company has also launched a feature called "Extra Passwords".

“This optional feature allows you to create a second password to access the credentials stored in Pass for better segmentation and peace of mind,” the company wrote in its blog post. “The additional password is available to the entire Proton Pass community Use, including those with free plans."
