Now is a great time to buy a Steam Deck. Valve's refurbished LCD Steam Decks are back in stock and priced lower than ever. Used devices are cheaper than new ones, making them a good option for those who want a Steam Deck but don't want to pay full price.

This isn't the first time Valve has offered refurbished handheld gaming computers, but it's the first time the price has dropped so low. With inventory now updated (albeit quickly), Valve is offering refurbished Steam Decks starting at $279 for the base 64GB eMMC model. That's about $70 less than the company currently charges for a brand-new device (and $40 less than when it first started offering refurbished Steam Decks). The 256GB NVMe model and 512GB model are available now, with refurbished prices of $319 and $359 respectively. This makes the largest LCD model cheaper than buying the smallest OLED model brand new. Currently, there's no word on when or if Valve will offer refurbished OLED models.

While purchasing a refurbished device like this may sound risky, Valve promises that all devices have been thoroughly tested and the only issues include cosmetic damage, such as marks or scratches. Everything else promises the same performance as the new Steam Deck. To back this up, all refurbished models come with the same one-year warranty as new Steam Deck.

The refurbished deck also comes with the same carrying case as the new Steam deck, allowing you to keep your handheld device safe when transporting it from one place to another.

As of this writing, the refurbished 64GB Steam Deck is sold out, so it's unclear how long other models will remain in stock, or when the 64GB model will be in stock. Either way, this is a great opportunity for many people to buy one of their own. Experience Valve's handheld gaming computer, which remains one of the best values in gaming handhelds today.

While the LCD Steam Deck's slightly smaller display may not be as attractive as the Steam Deck OLED, it's still one of the best ways to get into handheld gaming, especially at a lower price point. If you'd rather buy an OLED Steam Deck, you can always grab one of these, starting at $549 with a 512GB storage option.
