Ahead of the first movie's release this past Valentine's Day, Fifty Shades of Gray hysteria is in full swing and we all need to know more about super babe Jamie Dornan and fresh-faced Dakota Johnson who will Bringing these characters to life. For me at least, Fifty Shades of Gray is a huge guilty pleasure because some of the quotes and scenes contained in the book are almost too ridiculous to even be taken seriously. With the Halloween season right around the corner - and because movie-themed costumes are always a good idea - I thought it would be fun to give this collection another spin and come up with some unique and fun Fifty Shades of Gray costume ideas, Only the most dedicated fans will appreciate this.
When hysteria over the Fifty Shades of Gray book is at its highest, you're almost guaranteed to encounter someone wearing a Christian Gray costume. But Halloween is a time to show off your skills with clever puns, so I'm here to scour movies and books to give you some fresh Fifty Shades of Gray costume ideas that will keep you entertained on Halloween night.
The Goddess Within by Anastasia Steele
For those Fifty Shades fans who have actually read the book, this reference makes perfect sense. One of the most recurring images in the book is that of Anastasia Steele's "inner goddess," the mischievous voice in her head that matches Christian Grey's wishes. Cosmopolitan tallied up 57 examples of inner goddesses doing strange things, such as "jumping up and down and clapping like a five-year-old."
The first step to becoming your inner goddess is to invest in a long, flowing (preferably white) dress as the foundation for your goddess look. The ASOS one above and this one I found at Urban Outfitters are both ideal. The best thing about these is that you can use them again! Since we want to reference gray tones here, it's best to pair it with silver accessories and be as creative as you want.
These Forever 21 sandals add a touch of whimsy and look great paired with this F21 chain belt. I recommend braiding your hair in loose waves and braiding a few select braids for a romantic feel, then accessorizing with a headband or chain tiara.

Now, how do we bring Steele’s inner goddess to life? To keep the Christian spirit with you, put fake handcuffs on your wrists and carry a book with you. The book also serves as a handy way to record quotes you recite to innocent bystanders, such as "The goddess inside me pole vaulted over a fifteen-foot bar." Don't drink too much tequila, though. , and strive to do so.
"The Red Room" by Christian Grey
We all know that the main story here is Christian Gray trying to seduce Anastasia into becoming his submissive in his red room. This costume is fun if you like body painting and carrying lots of props. You can buy an all-red spandex body suit, like this one from Halloween Costumes for $35.

Add a pair of red strappy heels (or flats, if you're a #cozygirl) to complete the red outfit. Next, the most important part is to decorate yourself with various suspenders and/or tassels found in the Red Room. This Etsy shop has this ideal leather body carrier, and they also sell hand carriers and shorts carriers. The more wiring harnesses, the better!

What we’re trying here is “Holy Cow Fifty Shades of Grey”. You may be the only one existing in the world, but that's what you want!

You can make the cow spots by using Michael's black adhesive felt and placing them randomly around the set. The next step is to get your cow's ears and tail. Clothing stores have many of these suits, or you can order one on eBay for around $7.
Angel Wings, $12, Wholesale Halloween Costumes
Now you need to become holy. Most clothing stores also offer angel wings and halo sets, and this wholesale store has one for $12. If you put all of this together, you get a holy cow of gray, but I think to really understand this, you might want to carry a copy of Fifty Shades of Grey . Ah yes, the infamous scene where billionaire playboy Christian Gray stalks a college student working in a hardware store. Christian comes in to buy his, um, "supplies," and it's up to an unsuspecting and nervous Anastasia to help him. While most girls will probably play the gorgeous versions of Steele, the girl she was before she fell into Grey's arms should be respected. The appearance is quite simple. Get yourself a simple teal plaid long-sleeved top, like this one from Target , and wear it open over a simple white T-shirt.

Well, you need a green work apron. It's $3 a pop from Chefs Closet, or you can ask a Starbucks barista friend to help you over the night. Add a name tag or pin a piece of paper with your name "Anastasia" to the apron. You can find all the accessories you need at Home Depot. Gray will require zip ties, masking tape, and rope, so be sure to stock up on those three items.
As with the previous costumes, it would be ideal to have your own Christian Grey. Whether it's friends or a significant other, a dark gray sweater, like this one from H&M, should follow you and keep an eye on you all night long—so make sure you like them enough.
