Joey Graziadei's dad 'let down' by Bachelorette Daisy Kent

Joey Graziadei's father had reservations about Daisy Kent. Nick Graziadei recalled meeting the Season 28 finalist during the May 9 episode of The Bachelor Happy Hour podcast and revealed that he was "disappointed" in her.

"When we first met Daisy and sat down with Joey, we had a chat. ... The body language was OK. And then [we] had a conversation with her. I was a little disappointed because I was like, ' Well, well, that's not what I saw on Charity,'" he said, referring to Joey's previous relationship with Charity Lawson on "The Bachelorette" season 20.

Nick then recalled a separate conversation he had with Daisy, in which he suggested she should be more open with his son. "When I left, I was thinking, 'Well, I hope I didn't make him change his mind — I thought it would be Kelsey — but did we make him reconsider this?'" he said. "So that's what I'm a little worried about."

His first meeting with Joey's now-fiancée, Kelsey Anderson, was different. He went on to reveal in the podcast that she "lit up the room," and "I thought, 'Okay, finally.'" I thought, "Thank God I saw this." That was really my response. "

Nick's instincts proved correct. In the finale of The Bachelor , Joey proposed to Kelsey during the final rose ceremony. Likening their relationship to a "very strong fire," Joey told her, "I had no difficulty choosing you and I can't wait to tell you that I love you."

Daisy's dramatic exit

Before proposing, Daisy took matters into her own hands after realizing that Joey might give Kelsey her final rose. "I really love you," she tells him in the finale. "But the thing is, you won't choose me."

During the Final Rose special, she told host Jesse Palmer that she was "not ready" to lead the next season of The Bachelorette , as many viewers predicted.

"I'm healthy, I'm happy, and I haven't experienced either of those things in a long time," she said. "So, now, I know it's time for me to focus on the things I love and the people I love, so now, no. I'm not ready. That's OK, and I'm very proud of myself for realizing that."

Daisy has since repeatedly hinted that she is dating someone new, with a source claiming to Us Weekly that she is now in a relationship with someone she met in college. "He reached out to her first and it went really well," the insider said, claiming the new couple "have been traveling a lot lately."
