Here's what to know about Kate and Anthony's children

Ever since the tension-filled second season of Bridgerton premiered more than two years ago, fans have been eager to see Kate (Simon Ashley) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) become parents.

Ashley felt the same way. "Simply put, I would love to see them have kids," she told People in 2022. "Maybe it will happen, maybe it won't. But hopefully it will."

Now that season three is finally here, are Kate and Anthony having a baby? Or will parenthood - like their love - be a slow burn?

As fans wait for what's in store for #Kanthony Season 3, they can check out the Bridgerton books to get a sense of what to expect. After the events of "The Viscount Who Loved Me," the couple did become parents. In fact, they welcomed a total of four children: Edmund, Miles, Charlotte and Mary.

Their eldest son was named in honor of the late Bridgerton patriarch Edmund, who died from a bee sting in a season two flashback. Of course, the youngest daughter's name is Kate's mom, Mary Sharma.

There's a sweet moment at the end of "The Viscount Who Loved Me" when Anthony, now 39 - officially outliving his late father - speaks to Edmund's portrait for hours, telling him about his children and grandchildren.

Bridgerton Timeline says…

So, how long should viewers wait to see Kate and Anthony's parenthood?

According to the Bridgerton Scribe, their first child was born in 1815, a year after their marriage, according to Julia Quinn's website. It's also worth noting that their child is one year younger than Daphne and Simon's eldest son. Given these clues, Kate and Anthony's baby should appear soon.

That being said, the show doesn't always follow the family details of the books . For example, in the novel, Daphne and Simone's eldest child is a daughter named Amelia. On the screen is a young boy named August. So anything is possible. But whatever Kate and Anthony's journey to parenthood looks like, here's hoping it's a happy one.

"For them, we're not really interested in introducing any major new conflict into their relationship," showrunner Jesse Brownell told Entertainment Weekly. "We feel like they've been through hard things and we want viewers to be able to see them in a more fun and lovable space."

Whether this space touches on parenthood is yet to be determined, but even if little Edmund doesn't debut in season three, pregnancy news could be coming.
