Lauren Graham posts a spot-on Gilmore Girls photo on Instagram

Lorelai Gilmore just went official on Instagram. On March 17, Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham finally joined the social media platform, much to the delight of fans of the nostalgic show.

In her first IG post, the actor donned a green T-shirt that read "Everybody Loves Irish Girls" in honor of St. Patrick's Day. "Looks like today is a good day to finally log on to Instagram?" Graham wrote in the caption. “Happy St. Patrick’s Day, friends! xLG”

Her shirt may look familiar to eagle-eyed fans. Her Gilmore Girls character Lorelai wore the same T-shirt in the Season 4 episode "Ballrooms and Biscotti," which originally aired in 2003.

Within days of his first post, Graham had amassed over 200,000 followers. As of press time, she follows 54 users, including co-stars Melissa McCarthy (Sookie St. James) and Yanic Truesdale (Michel Gerard).

Fans were quick to celebrate her debut on Instagram, which quickly surpassed 185,000 likes. "Finally! We've all been waiting for this! Apparently, St. Patrick is indeed a miracle worker. You look amazing," one user commented.

"Beautiful as always! Please give us more Gilmore Girls ! We need more Lorelai and Luke! And of course Stars Hollow, Rory and Jess," another fan gushed, while one One fan added, "OMG Lauren there you are! And that iconic shirt! I've been waiting for this moment for years."

She wasn't always an IG fan

In 2020, Graham appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show and outlined why she never joined the platform. "I'm easily distracted," she explains. "I'm worried that if I'm on Instagram, I won't be doing anything else."

Despite these reservations, she acknowledges some of the benefits of social media, as she has been active on X (formerly Twitter) since 2012. "I've met some wonderful people that I admire," she told the show's titular host. “The connectivity of all this stuff is really good.”
