On August 31, Swift surprised fans by confirming rumors that she was working on an Eras Tour concert movie (even though she still has over a year to travel the globe), revealing that the film will be released on Friday. In theaters October 13.
To the delight of fans, Swift's concert was released a day early in the U.S. and Canada "due to unprecedented demand." As if that wasn't enough, just a month and a half after the film's release, she announced that fans can watch an extended version of her Eras Tour movie at home starting on December 13, which happens to be her 34th birthday.
Swift first announced the film's release on "Good Morning America" and then shared her excitement on social media. "Eras Tour has been the most rewarding and exciting experience of my life so far, and I'm excited to tell you that it will soon be making its way to the big screen," she wrote on August 31. , there is a dress code for the occasion. “Period clothing, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing are encouraged,” she added. “1, 2, 3 LGB!!! Rumors that Swift was planning an Eras Tour movie or documentary first emerged after professional cameras captured the singer on stage during some of her six shows at SoFi Arena in Los Angeles. Fans also pointed out that the light-up bands they designed for these shows were much larger, almost like they were tailor-made for the movie experience.
TMZ reports that cameras also followed Swift behind the scenes, but since the film doesn't show any BTS footage, it may be saved for a future project.

Can you watch the Taylor Swift Eras tour movie?
On November 27, Swift announced that an extended version of the Eras Tour film will be available for on-demand rental on December 13.
"Hello! Well, so, basically my birthday is coming up and I was thinking of a fun way to celebrate the year we've had together, which is to make The Eras Tour Movie for you to watch at home!" she wrote.
The extended cut will include three performances previously edited for theatrical release - "Wild Dreams," "Archer" and "Viva." Sadly, "Cardigan" and "No Body, No Crime" still appear to have been left on the cutting room floor. The film will be available for rental in the United States, Canada, and other countries "to be announced soon."

Tickets for the Eras Tour movie are currently available from AMC Theatres, Cinemark and Regal Cinemas, as well as movie ticketing site Fandango. Swift announced that all tickets, including tickets to early screenings, will be on sale by 10 a.m. Thursday, October 12.
