Taylor Swift is dating Travis Kelce for the first time.
In an interview with Time magazine, which declared Swift its 2023 Person of the Year, she recalled the early days of their high-profile relationship.
She confirmed in an interview with the outlet that their courtship began after Kelce revealed on his New Heights podcast that he planned to give Swift his number during one of her Eras Tour shows.
"It all started when Travis surprised me so cutely on his podcast," Swift recalled. "I thought it was metal."
She continued: "We've been hanging out ever since. So we actually spent a lot of time that no one knew about, which I'm grateful for because we got to get to know each other."
“We show up for each other”
Swift also confirmed to TIME that she and Kelce were already a couple when she attended a Kansas City Chiefs game for the first time in September.
"When I went to the first game, we were already a couple," Swift revealed. "I guess some people thought they saw our first date in that game? We would never be crazy enough to go on a first date."
Swift also explained that she didn't want to go to "extreme effort" to hide her relationship, adding: "When you say a relationship is public, that means I get to see him do what he likes to do Things, we’re showing up for each other.”
Meanwhile, Swift also spoke about her experience at the Kansas City Chiefs game in Kelce, revealing she still has no idea how the cameras found her inside the stadium.
"There's a camera, about a half-mile away, and you don't know where it is and you don't know when the camera is going to put you on the air," Swift said in a Time interview. "I don't know if I was shown 17 times or once."
Despite the hype surrounding her appearance at NFL games, Swift also made it clear that she was "just here to support Travis."
"I don't know if I'm being shown too much and pissing off some dads and Brad and Chad," she joked.
Speculation about Swift and Kelce first began in July, when he attended the Kansas City leg of her global Eras tour.
Rumors later surfaced that the two had been "hanging out quietly," and on September 28, People reported that the couple were just "having fun" getting to know each other. In October, Swift attended two more of Kelce's NFL games, sparking dating rumors.
