NSFW “Ghostbusters” searches surge

I don't think the porn I watch is influenced by pop culture, but according to an exclusive report Pornhub recently shared with Bustle, a lot of people's porn is. Seriously, around the time "Ghostbusters" came out, more and more people started searching for ghost-related porn on Pornhub. Like, there's a lot more. I think this is awesome. Maybe my imagination isn't big enough, but I've never watched a movie and thought "I need to see a porn about this," but I guess I should dream bigger.

I don't know if it just sneaks into their unconscious and somehow manifests itself as a ghost porn search, but regardless, the brain is an incredible thing. There are also people who just enjoy ghost movies, regardless of whether they are released or not. Pornhub explains, "Sexual attraction to ghosts is a fetish called Spectropilia, which may explain some of the popular searches like 'ghost sex,' 'sex with ghosts,' and 'porn ghosts.'"

Here's the fun stuff Pornhub found out about who watched Ghost Movie during its release, because it's not just about the ghosts:

1. Numbers skyrocketed after launch

That's right, searches for ghost porn increased significantly around the time of the movie's release - 178% more often than the usual (admittedly quite unusual) frequency. So unless it's some kind of ghost national holiday, it's safe to say that this movie had a pretty serious impact.

2. Diverse searches

The top three searches were "Ghost," "Ghost Girl," and "Ghostbusters," but it didn't stop there. I think it's worth mentioning that "cartoon ghost" and "casper ghost" made the search list.

Is Casper the Ghost sexy? I thought he was being friendly. I don't know who searches for cartoon ghosts on Pornhub, but I want to meet you. Your imagination amazes me.

3. Women are more likely to search than men

Maybe this is a female empowerment movie, maybe women just like ghosts, but they are 12% more likely than men to search for ghost porn.

4. Young people are more likely to be addicted to ghost movies

People aged 18-24 are 41% more likely than others to search for ghost movies, and this becomes less likely as they age. coincide? I doubt it.

5. Horror movie fans are the main demographic

No surprise here. When it comes to movie tastes, horror fans are most likely to seek out ghosts. Least likely? Romance and drama fan. I'm curious how many fans of the Ghost movies are out there looking for porn about ghosts and pottery with Unchained Melody playing in the background, but alas technology only gets so far.
