A first look at the OnePlus 12's new colors and rearranged buttons

An official announcement hasn't been made yet, but OnePlus wants you to know that it has moved the alert slider for better antenna support and added a new Flowy Emerald color to its upcoming flagship phone.

OnePlus continues its efforts to become a major player in the mobile phone space and has teased its upcoming flagship phone, the OnePlus 12.

The OnePlus 12 now sports a green design called "Flowy Emerald" inspired by China's Dart River, and the design also includes a moving alert slider.

"Based on internal testing, it has been determined that the best position for the gaming antenna is between the user's index finger when the phone is held in landscape orientation," the company wrote in an email. "However, that space is currently occupied by the OnePlus 11 The alert slider takes up a better gaming antenna on the OnePlus 12 by relocating it to the other side of the phone.

Of course, now that the slider is moved, the signal strength doesn't even go through the body of the phone. OnePlus has solved this problem with what it calls ultra-compact full-band antenna technology, which also integrates the alert slider into the antenna itself. The company claims this results in better balance, an extra 3dB increase in antenna signal, and a 15% reduction in gaming latency.

Official details are scarce, but Engadget expects a release date of December 15th. Additionally, Yahoo Tech HK notes (translated into English via the browser) that the phone may feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 2K screen and support for wireless charging (a new feature on current OnePlus phones) and infrared remote control. The website also promises a 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor and 3x telephoto lens in the Hasselblad camera array.
