As long as you sign up for the ChatGPT Plus package ($20 per month), you can use a custom GPT - Generative Pre-trained Transformer. These chatbots have a specific purpose, whether it's vacation planning or scientific research, and there are tons of chatbots to choose from.
They're not all high quality, but a few are genuinely useful; I've picked out our favorites below. To find them, just click Browse GPT in the left navigation bar of the ChatGPT web version. Once a specific GPT is installed, you can find it from the same navigation bar.
These GPTs replace plugins on the platform and provide a more focused experience and functionality than the average ChatGPT bot. Many of them come with additional knowledge not found in ChatGPT, and you can even try creating your own: In the GPT directory, click + Create in the upper right corner.
kayak
Travel portal Kayak has its own GPT, ready to answer any questions you may have about a specific destination or how to get there. Ask about the best time to visit a city, or the cost of a flight somewhere, or some of the places you can get to on a specific budget. It's great for getting travel inspiration or working out the finer details, and when I tested it in my hometown of Manchester, England, the answers it gave were so accurate that it even correctly told me the price you'd need to pay for a beer at the moment.
Popular Mods
The Dall-E image generator (another OpenAI property) is built directly into ChatGPT, so you can use image creation and manipulation tools out of the box, but Hot Mods is a little more specific: it takes a photo you've already obtained and Its transformation into something else. Add new elements, change the lighting or atmosphere, change the background, turn a photo into a painting or vice versa, and more. Image transformations aren't always accurate - that's the nature of AI art - but you can have a lot of fun with it.
wine sommelier
Want to know the perfect wine for a specific dish, event or time of year? Of course you can, which is why a wine sommelier is so helpful. Put it to the test and it will tell you which wines go well with chicken salad, which wines are suitable for a vegan diet, and which wines will be well-received at weddings. You can also take GPT quizzes on relevant topics, such as wine production processes or famous vineyards. Whether you're a wine expert or want some tips on how to become one, a wine sommelier bot is very handy.
canvas
You may already be familiar with Canva's simple and intuitive graphic design tools for web and mobile devices, and its official GPT also enables you to get creative in the ChatGPT interface. With everything from posters to flyers to social media posts covered, when it comes to design in Canva, you can be as thoughtful or as vague as you like. GPT is able to generate text and images for your project, and it will ask you questions if it needs more guidance on the graphics you requested.
science space
SciSpace is an example of a GPT that brings a wealth of additional knowledge beyond ChatGPT's own training data - in fact, it can mine over 278 million research papers, so you can ask it any question to get insights on a specific topic. The latest academic thinking. Whether you want to understand the potential link between exercise and heart health, whale migration patterns, or anything else, SciSpace has you covered. You can also upload a research paper and ask the bot to analyze and summarize it for you.
Coloring book heroes
Here's a great idea: Let AI create a custom coloring book for you based on any idea or theme you like. Obviously, you'll also need a printer (unless you're coloring digitally), but there's a lot of fun experimenting with designs and themes - you can even upload your own images and convert them to coloring book format. Some common AI quirks occasionally show up in images, but they're mostly bold text, black lines, and large white spaces.
Tungsten
Wolfram Alpha is one of the best resources on the web, an outstanding collection of algorithms and knowledge, and Wolfram GPT brings a lot of this utility to ChatGPT. The bot is great for complex mathematical calculations and graphs, converting between different units, and asking questions about any knowledge humans have collected to date. The breadth of functionality here is impressive, and GPT is able to seamlessly extract data and images from Wolfram Alpha when needed.
