How much money can roommates bring into "BB" House?

Have you ever found yourself watching Big Brother and after watching a guest smoke a cigarette or write in a diary, wonder: " How the hell did they get that stuff in there?" Because I do. all the time. This always makes me ask - what exactly can a houseguest bring into a Big Brother house? Sure, the clothes on their backs are free, as are any number of toiletries and clothing to get them through the summer - but, like, what else can they bring? For example, when someone like John laments not having a guitar, you have to wonder what the restrictions are on what tenants are allowed to bring into the house.

Let's start at the end and work our way back, shall we? One thing we all know is that every guest takes a duffel bag with them when they step out of their home. This means that large items such as guitars cannot be stored in the house. (Sorry, John.)

Another thing that is absolutely not allowed at home? As former Season 12 houseguest Ragen Fox pointed out on his blog, clothing with logos or artwork is not allowed. This isn't a rule that guests should take lightly: For example, if you come in with five shirts and two of them have a logo on them—sorry, now you only have three shirts.

Fox says all the other "extras" you see in the house - cigarettes, puzzles to keep your mind active, pens and journals - have to be snuck into the house and "quarantined." I'm not sure how the producers will control all of this - maybe random room checks? Regular cleaning? Insisting that tenants hand over items when they see them? - but baggage restrictions are definitely the main way they limit items to what is allowed in the Big Brother house.

One thing's for sure: There isn't a lot of luxury space in the house, but the tenants make do with what the parameters allow. For example, Jason has been pumping his little heart out, and John has been anchoring his music with air guitar and has become an integral member of the Whackstreet Boys. Who needs more?

When you're provided with food, water and a swimming pool, "Big Brother" contestants don't need much else.
