Chrissy Teigen's mom Pepper pays tribute to late grandson Jack in her recipe

Less than a year after suffering a devastating loss in her family, Chrissy Teigen's mother Pepper has dedicated her recipe to her late grandson Jack, saying they "talk about him every day." Vilailuck "Pepper" Teigen, whose upcoming cookbook is titled "Pepper Thai Cookbook, " hopes her latest project will be another way people remember Jack. Last fall, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend shared tragic news: They lost their third child, a son named Jack, at 20 weeks pregnant.

Pepper, who opened up about the loss in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, said the family often discussed dealing with the loss with Jack. Teigen's mother noted that the couple's other two children, Luna, 4, and Miles, 2, were also involved in those conversations. "We talk about him every day. Luna talks about him every day and that's how sad we are," Pepper said. "We're improving every day. We're getting better, and so is Kris."

The cookbook isn't the only tribute to Jack that Pepper has shared. In October 2020, the chef and author shared a touching message about her late grandson on Instagram, posting a photo from the hospital and writing, "My heart aches and love you so much baby Jack." The post was tagged "สู่สุขตินะลูก," which translates to "happiness" in Thai.

Kris also shared how she kept Jack in her memory. Last November, the "Cravings" author got her late son's name tattooed on her wrist and shared a photo of the new tattoo on her Instagram Story. Jack's name, written in cursive, appeared above another family eulogy, which read "John Luna Miles." Chrissy also published an article on Medium in November about pregnancy loss, recounting the heartbreaking experience of having to give up her baby due to life-threatening health complications.

"I needed to say something before I could move on and get back to living my life, so I really appreciate you allowing me to do that," Kris wrote. The cookbook author went on to add that the family won't be coming soon Forgetting Jack: "Jack will always be loved explaining to our children that he is present in the wind, in the trees, and in the butterflies they see."
