Starbucks’ Santa Claus Frappuccino is festive

This is the season of joy for all things. your house? It was all shining with light. Your dog? Reluctantly putting on a vacation sweater. Your Starbucks order? Well, if you haven’t gotten into the Christmas spirit drinking coffee yet, allow me to introduce you to the Santa Frappuccino. Is it a monster? Is this a masterpiece? A little bit of both?

You can thank/blame pop culture and food blog Totally The Bomb for creating this festive drink. It's a mix of strawberry and vanilla, and Totally The Bomb says it tastes like strawberry shortcake. While perhaps not the most traditional holiday flavor, the resulting Frappuccino ends up looking like Santa Claus in a cup. (Again, whether this is attractive or shocking is up to you.)

If you want to confuse your barista, follow these steps to order a Santa Frappuccino:

  • Start by ordering a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino
  • Next, ask for a layer of strawberry puree on the bottom and middle of the cup
  • Finally, ask for it to be topped with whipped cream and Christmas icing sugar
  • Say thank you, tip generously and enjoy

The Santa Claus Frappuccino is the secret menu item you're looking for on Starbucks' 2020 holiday menu. While the Secret Menu isn't technically on the menu—the Secret Menu is more of a guide to creative concoctions than a list of actual products—this seasonal Frappuccino will help banish 2020's 'bah humbug'.

a total bomb

And of course, there are Starbucks Secret Menu drinks for any occasion. Are you convinced that The Nightmare Before Christmas is best watched in December? There’s a Jack Skull Frappuccino calling your name. Looking for a twist on regular peppermint mocha? Try the Thin Mint Frappuccino. Don't like coffee? Then you need more Chai-ders in your life. Are you uncomfortable making eye contact with the cashier when you order a bunch of extra mints? Order on the Starbucks app. While not a secret menu item, it can make you order more cautiously.

You can also upgrade your favorite Starbucks holiday drink with a few simple tips, like adding cinnamon sweet syrup for an extra festive flavor, or if you're missing out on the first year, making a DIY gingerbread latte. Even though it's been off menus for a few years, Starbucks die-hards have found a way to make a Frankenstein Gingerbread Latte.

While you're there, don't forget to pick up some Starbucks gifts for the coffee lover in your life. (Note: That coffee lover can definitely be you.)
