As fans anxiously await the premiere of American Gods , the STARZ miniseries based on Neil Gaiman's popular 2001 novel, new casting announcements are coming. The cast of American Gods looks pretty amazing so far. We'll take a look at the six announced cast members in more detail below.
In January, readers cheered when STARZ revealed that Gaiman's mixed-race protagonist Shadow Moon would be played by The 100 's Ricky Whittle. His casting eases fears that the TV adaptation of "American Gods" will fall victim to Hollywood whitewashing.
American Gods news has been quiet throughout February, but March is booming with the announcement of Ian McShane taking on Mr. Wednesday. Last August, McShane made headlines for starring in the sixth season of Game of Thrones . A Song of Ice and Fire fans believe McShane will play Septon Meribald in the HBO series, but there's been no official word yet.
Next up in the cast is Emily Browning, who is responsible for bringing Shadow Moon's wife Laura to the small screen. Gaiman called the role "tricky," but said he had full confidence in the "Pretty Girls" actress' acting abilities.
