Of the many roles Jennifer Lopez has played — Ramona in Hustlers , Marissa in Maid in Manhattan and Richie in Gilly — it seems like her role as the late Celine Na Quintanilla remains the singer's favorite role. Lopez played the Tejano music star in the 1997 biopic " Selena," which chronicled the eponymous singer's rise to fame and tragic death at age 23 after her fan club president, Yolanda Salvador, In the hands of Yolanda Saldívar. It was a journey to stardom for Lopez, who later established herself as a singer and continued making music as "Jenny from the Block."
On December 26, Lopez wore a Selena graphic T-shirt in tribute to the "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" singer, Page Six reported. Lopez paired the shirt with floral pants while out with her children Emme, sister Lynda and niece Lucie. The shirt was a gift from Quintanilla's sister Suzette, and it's apparently become a staple among the Hustlers star's Christmas gifts this year.
In Lopez's latest On The JLo newsletter, the "Love Don't Cost A Thing" singer shared all things Christmas, including how she spends the holidays (she hosted a hummingbird-themed Christmas party), what she wore (a Gucci dress), and the Christmas gift ideas she swears by. "Here are some gifts I got this Christmas that I absolutely love...but if you need a great gift, they are really perfect year round for any special someone or special occasion!!!" she wrote in "I Favorite things” reads in part. Among her gift collections, which include Le Labo candles and Hermès scarves, is a "Selena gift box." The singer also included a selfie wearing a different Selena printed T-shirt tucked into jeans.
"Suzette and family sent me an awesome Selena gift box this week and I love it!!!," the "Let's Get Loud" singer wrote. "I immediately wore this Selena shirt for my Christmas shopping. If you like rock t-shirts...these t-shirts make a super cool gift. Selena is such a big part of my life, so you'll definitely be in the new See me rocking these for a year! Thank you Q! ” If you want to dress like Lopez, these shirts retail for less than $30.
Since Lopez played Quintanilla 25 years ago, she has been outspoken about her love for the late great man and his family.
