The Spice Girls just reunited with surprise performance

Spice Girls fans have been patiently waiting for the iconic '90s girl group to reunite on stage since the band's 2019 tour. Fans were given the ultimate Christmas gift during Emma Bunton's recent UK tour when she performed a surprise rendition of Spice Girls classics alongside a former bandmate.

The impromptu reunion took place on December 19, during the start of singer Emma Bunton and friends' Christmas tour in London. As Bunton (aka Baby Spice) began performing her 1998 single 'Stop', the audience was stunned when Melanie C made a surprise appearance on stage at the Theater Royal Drury Lane and joined Bunton in belting out the Spice Girls classic They cheered.

"All I wanted for Christmas was a Spice Girls reunion and I got it," one excited fan wrote on Twitter after the show. "Emma Bunton brought out Mel C on her Christmas show and I'm dying," another fan commented.

Meanwhile, Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson also took to the stage with Baby Spice to perform Slade's 1973 hit "Merry Christmas".

This isn't the first time the Spice Girls have reunited in recent months. In November 2022, four-fifths of the band reunited to celebrate Geri Halliwell's (now Horner) 50th birthday party. The moment was captured by TV presenter Rylan Clark, who shared a now-viral video of Ginger, Sporty, Baby and Sassy Spice (Victoria Beckham) sang together on the dance floor to their hit song "Say You'll Be There."

The reunion coincides with the girl group celebrating 25 years of Spiceworld , with a brand new music video, remix and live recording - and with a 2023 tour reportedly on the way, fans may be praying that the Spice Girls can have a real of reunion in the coming year.
