Kim Kardashian and her daughter, North West, mingled with Taylor Swift in a TikTok video posted on their joint account on Jan. 5 Dance and "break the internet" again. On TikTok, the pair performed a duet on Swift's 2014 hit "Shake It Off" while showing off their hate-proof moves. While the mother-daughter duo often posts adorable dance videos on TikTok, Kardashian and her estranged husband Kanye West’s history with the 11-time Grammy winner The choice of Swift songs was particularly important.
Swift and West's infamous feud began when West stormed the stage during her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Years after reconciling, West reignited the feud by naming Swift in his 2016 song "Famous," saying: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, why? I let that bitch People are famous." Swift verbally disagreed with the lyrics calling her a "b*tch" and the depiction of her nudity in the music video, but Kardashian revealed the phone call between Swift and West. Clip later, taking the drama up a notch, in which she appears to agree with the lyrics.

At the time, Swift denied approving the "b*tch" lyrics and said the call was recorded without her knowledge, calling the clips "edited" and saying she "desperately wanted to be left out of this" beyond the narrative." The full call was leaked in 2020, proving that Swift didn't know the "b*tch" lyrics and in fact even told West she would feel uncomfortable being called that name. But by then, Swift just wanted to move on, responding to the leaked call by encouraging her fans to donate to Feeding America.
Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021, kicking off another dramatic and controversial saga with the rapper. So it might not be entirely surprising to see the reality star embracing Swift again. In December 2021, when Kardashian was asked about her favorite Swift album, she actually praised her music. "I really like a lot of her songs," she admitted on the Honesty Podcast. "They're both super cute and engaging." Maybe Kardashian and Swift will become Hollywood's next best friends in 2023.
