Heinz is selling sprayable mayonnaise mousse

Over the years, Heinz has tried adding many different sauces to its product line. From spiced pineapple chutney to chocolate orange mayonnaise, the food brand certainly doesn't shy away from innovative thinking when it comes to its range of sauces.

But if you're a fan of the old classic mayonnaise, you might be interested to know that Heinz has tried a sprayable version. Yes, mayonnaise mousse.

Interestingly, the idea for spray mousse came about through football legend Peter Crouch's podcast. In 2021, a listener named Tom came up with the idea of spraying mayonnaise on an episode of Peter Crouch's podcast.

Tom, from Glasgow, revealed he had a lightbulb moment while on a trip to Spain when he saw a waitress holding spray detergent in one hand and mayonnaise in the other. Crouch, also a mayonnaise lover, supported the unique invention and called Tom a "genius".

After listening to an episode of Crouch's podcast, Heinz gave the former England star, his co-hosts Chris Starc and Tom Fordyce, and of course the brains behind the idea, a chance to Tom, from Glasgow, has created a limited edition bottle of mayonnaise mousse.

At the time, Heinz said they could officially launch the product if demand was sufficient. Now it seems like they've gone ahead and done that... or something.

In April, a Dutch food Instagrammer posted a video of herself trying some Heinz spray mayonnaise she bought at a supermarket in Amsterdam.

However, it seems UK shoppers may have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the mayonnaise mousse, as it's unclear whether Heinz has launched a mayonnaise branch in the UK. I've contacted Heinz to confirm if the Mayonnaise Mousse will be available in the UK and will update you on the brand's response as soon as it becomes available.
