Demi Lovato and Jordan “Jutes” Lutes are engaged, the singer’s rep confirms to People magazine . The surprise proposal took place on December 16 in Los Angeles.
According to the magazine, Jutes collaborated with New York fine jewelry boutique Material Good to create a custom pear-shaped diamond engagement ring. After a "personal and intimate proposal," the couple celebrated with their family at one of their favorite Los Angeles restaurants.
During the Dec. 7 episode of "The Jennifer Hudson Show," Lovato revealed that she met musician Juts in the studio when he helped co-write her 2022 single "Holy Fvck." and "a few" other songs. "We work so well together and we love each other so much," Lovato gushed. "It's great to find someone you can laugh with and make music with. ... It's just so special."

In August 2022, Lovato and Jutes went public with their relationship when they were photographed holding hands in New York. Since then, they've documented several milestones and public displays of love, including Lovato recently "assisting" her new fiancé with his latest tattoo, which she also revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show .
While they were on tour, Juts decided to name the song she wrote for him, "Forever for Me," got him tattooed in ink and asked her to "do it." The "Confidence" singer joked that if she did the whole thing, "it would look terrible," saying, "I did a big part of it and it turned out okay."

Prior to this, the pair had made no secret of their seriousness, especially when celebrating their respective birthdays on social media. In March, Lovato paid tribute to her "sweet angel" on Instagram, calling him "gorgeous, funny, sexy and talented."
"I've been waiting my whole life to find you and I can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays together," she wrote. "You are truly a dream come true and I am so grateful that you are mine."
When Lovato turned 31 in August, Jutes returned the love for his "best friend" in her own Instagram birthday post. "I never knew perfect people existed until I met you. But now that I do, I will spend the rest of my life protecting you and doing everything in my power to make you smile and laugh again," he wrote. "I'm so proud to call you my baby."
In response, Lovato commented: "You make my life infinitely better and I don't know what I would do without you. Thank you for making this day so special, thank you for being the best boyfriend in the universe, thank you You made my dream come true, falling in love with the perfect person and finding my soulmate. I am so lucky to have you."
