Bachelor Nation is reacting to Gerry Turner and Theresa Nestor's divorce. The Bachelor couple announced their split in an interview on "Good Morning America" on April 12, just months after they walked down the aisle.
Fans and other Bachelor Nation stars were quick to react to Gerry and Teresa's announcement, including Season 21 frontman Nick Viall . "I'm really curious what happened to Gerry and Teresa that made them so sure of signing their marriage license and now they're divorced."
Viall added that he felt "there's more to the story that we haven't heard" and that "maybe Gerry wasn't as golden as we hoped."
Maria Trice, the original "Bachelor" eliminated, also shared her thoughts on the breakup with People . "Try to force yourself into shoes that don't fit and you'll get corns on your toes," she told the outlet, adding that she "dodged a bullet" by not marrying Gerry.
Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts, who co-host the upcoming Bachelor Fun Days: Golden Hour podcast, were among the first to share their reactions to the breakup. "We just saw it on TV," Swartz said on Instagram. "It's sad, it's tragic. Please people be kind. These are our friends. The love didn't work out, but they are great people. Our hearts go out to them."
Knowles, who officiated the couple's wedding on Jan. 4, encouraged fans not to "give up on the idea of meeting someone on the show," like The Bachelor .
"There are a lot of people in the world who are still in love. I truly believe these two are in love," Knowles said, noting that Gerry and Teresa may "have their reasons" for divorce. "So everyone has to be supportive. Stay positive and we wish them all the best."
Fellow Bachelor Season 1 contestant Joan Vassos also reacted to the news, writing on Instagram Stories: “My heart goes out to my good friend Gerry "My thoughts are with Teresa," she continued. "I know they care about each other deeply and they will always have a special relationship." April Lynn Kirkwood also shared a link to the couple's GMA interview on Instagram. Gerry and Teresa, who got engaged on the November 2023 finale of "The Bachelor, " spoke with GMA host Juju Chang about the things that did and didn't influence their decision to break up after about three months of marriage.
Gerry explained that he and Teresa had "many heart-to-heart conversations" before deciding to announce their divorce. "We carefully looked at our situation, our living situation and so on, and together we came to the conclusion that it might be time for us to dissolve our marriage," he said.
