It's hard not to be enamored with the Hill brothers in "Fox Enlisted." The dream trio in Fox's new military buddy comedy bring a humorous edge to a subject usually reserved for more dramatic productions. It's basically an army scrubs suit, and it's even better than it sounds. Jeff Stutz plays Staff Sergeant Pete Hill, who is sent back to his base in Florida after assaulting a senior officer in Afghanistan and is tasked with managing a group of misfits. Of course, two of the misfits are his younger brothers, and mischief ensues. Unfortunately, Fox canceled Enlisted , so you won’t be watching and/or drooling over Stults anymore — well, at least not on Fox.
Keep in mind that Enlisted 's cancellation is absolutely no indication of its quality. Fox may be hurting the series' impact by airing episodes heavily out of order, possibly hoping that "strong" episodes will draw viewers in rather than letting the narrative unfold in order. "Enlisted" seems to be so popular among actual members of the military that Army Times published an editorial asking Fox to give it a better time slot -- and non-military fans are sure to enjoy it, too.
The network at least relented a bit, airing the remaining four episodes on Sundays in June and putting the full season on Hulu. But if you're tired of watching the same 13 episodes over and over again to learn about the Hill Brothers, don't worry. Pete, well, Stults, has actually been on TV for years, in shows you've probably already seen, that you probably wouldn't mind watching again.
Early roles landed him small roles in shows like Everybody Loves Raymond and Spin City , but he also had some other memorable roles. Here are some of the TV shows Stults has appeared in.
how I Met Your Mother
In HIMYM Season 6, Stutz appeared in two episodes as Max, Marshall's law school friend who dates Robin. Although Robin shared some intimate details about Max with the gang that kept them from looking him in the eye, they eventually broke up because she wanted him to try something in the bedroom that he didn't like.
seventh heaven
While his current show is all about brothers, Staats previously starred in a show with his real-life brother George. In everyone's favorite '90s game , 7th Heaven, they faced off against the Kim Kirk brothers. George plays Lucy's eventual husband Kevin, while Jeff plays his fireman brother Ben, who was also Mary's love interest for a while.
Ben and Kate
Fans of the departed but wonderful show Ben & Kate will remember Stutz as Will, the cool, inherited-rich musician whom Kate dated, in his ZZ While playing in a Top cover band, he had an inevitably unattractive "guitar face."
October Road
Staats also starred as Eddie Latekka on the ABC drama "October Road." His character was somewhat obsessed with women before he met and pursued his love interest, Janet. Superfans of the show have flooded the internet with tons of cheesy tribute videos, which is impressive considering the show only lasted two seasons.
Let's hope Stults starts showing up in more series and this list grows soon.
