Imagine the most extravagant birthday celebration you have ever attended. Maybe it's to celebrate someone's 15th or 16th orbit around the sun, or maybe it's to celebrate a 50th birthday. But have you ever celebrated your 90th birthday? Few people get the chance to celebrate the lives of people born in the 1920s.
so far. You're lucky enough to be part of the worldwide celebrations celebrating the 90th birthday of the world's most famous rodent, Mickey Mouse. You say, what’s a birthday without an amazing cake? Not good enough! Luckily, Sam's Club offers a three-tier Mickey Mouse cake for all celebrations.
Sam's Club creates a truly spectacular cake that's big enough for a large Mickey Mouse birthday party. In a press release, the supermarket chain described the Mickey Mouse cake designed for Mickey Mouse's 90th birthday as a three-tier "mouse cake" large enough to seat 66 people. The cake was apparently designed to look like the mouse it was celebrating; the two bottom layers were fire engine red, the first layer was decorated with fondant in the shape of Mickey Mouse's iconic yellow shoes, and the second layer had two tiny edible buttons, Like the buttons on his pants.
The top layer is black and has an image of Mickey's face on it. The whole cake is of course completed with Mickey’s big round ears.
If you don't need cake to feed 66 people (or can't handle that much yourself), Sam's Club has plenty of other options to satisfy your Disney party desires, like Mickey Mouse Cupcakes or Mickey Mouse Cupcake Cakes. The cupcakes come in chocolate, vanilla or a combination of the two and are topped with red and white frosting and fondant graphics of Mickey through the ages. Some are Steamboat Willie, some are Fantasia Wizard Mickey, and some are just regular Mickey Mouse. The cake is frosted with white frosting and decorated with a red and white piping border. An image of Mickey's silhouette decorates the top of the cake.
Just because Mickey has never appeared on a Sam's Club cake doesn't mean this is the first time Sam's Club has put out a beautiful, giant cake. This summer, the chain introduced a different three-tier cake modeled after the Aquatic Mystic, which also served 66 people. The spectacular mermaid cake is the perfect centerpiece for a pool party and is sure to make you feel like you're growing fins and a tail.
A true culinary marvel, the bottom layer of the mermaid cake is covered in a pattern of blue, green and purple scales, reminiscent of a mermaid's tail. Every inch of the second layer is covered in rainbow sprinkles—so much so that you can’t even see the frosting that keeps them there. The top floor is like an underwater botanical garden, decorated with beautiful, precise piped icing decorations to look like algae, kelp, and other aquatic plants. The entire cake has a plastic mermaid tail on top.
