How does Neptune retrograde affect travel?

Neptune goes retrograde on June 16th. If you plan to travel between then and November 22, things may get a little weird, but traveling while Mercury is retrograde won't be difficult. How exactly does Neptune retrograde affect travel? Since Neptune retrograde in Pisces is associated with heightened emotions and increased sensitivity, your travel plans may be disrupted by internal struggles and technical difficulties.

The astrology website AstroMark points out that when Neptune is retrograde, you may feel fatigued, which means you need to pay extra attention when traveling. "Be careful around the 16th. Space Neptune will go retrograde. You may just be tired, but it's not good to drive when you're tired."

In Los Angeles, where I live, dazed, unconscious drivers are the norm on everyone's best day. Now add to this the fact that the planet's backspin causes fatigue, and this could lead to disaster. Don’t say this to yourself: Don’t drive on June 16th.

Neptune is a large, slow-moving planet that takes more than 60,000 days to orbit the Sun, and it can orbit a zodiac sign for up to 14 years. Neptune also rules logic and balance, so in addition to being tired, everyone and their mother may also seem unreasonable.

"When retrograde, logic goes out the window," explains astrology website The Pagan Path. “People are increasingly interested in the intuitive or esoteric. As people begin to analyze their own inner nature, dreams and psychic abilities find new followers. As artistic abilities are expressed, new channels of communication surface. ”

While everyone is busy getting to know their inner self, outer focus can be affected, so if you're traveling during Neptune Retrograde, here are some things to be aware of.

you may be afraid of water

Astrology website Twixt, Earth & Sky reports that you may have some unusual fears while Neptune is retrograde. The website notes that "people may have an obsessive fear of water," perhaps because this coincides with the start of hurricane season.

Since Neptune retrograde is known for banishing paranoia, you may see things you previously considered safe as sinister or dangerous, especially if you're a Pisces.

"Neptune retrograde can internalize your fears and anxieties by removing fantasies, dreams, and false realities that have clouded your vision," notes the astrology website Start Sign Style. "The destruction of your fantasy world will reveal what you were trying to do at some point in the past." The harsh realities to avoid.”

While a scuba diving trip sounded like a good idea a few months ago, you may end up feeling trapped or unsafe during Neptune retrograde.

Beware: Neptune Rules Contagious Diseases

You've probably heard those horror stories about everyone getting norovirus on a cruise ship. Because Neptune is the ruler of infectious diseases, this is more likely to happen when Neptune is retrograde.

"Neptune is also the ruler of bacteria, viruses, and the immune system," Pagan Path reports. "So when the virus goes retrograde, allergies may be exacerbated or worsened. Additionally, children who are vaccinated during this time may have a stronger reaction to the medication. Many people's immune systems will become overly sensitive and may develop more severe symptoms disease".

Take extra health precautions when traveling while Neptune is retrograde. Avoid seafood buffets, undercooked food, and unwashed fruits and vegetables; make sure you have antibacterial wipes ready; and don’t touch stair railings, elevator buttons, etc. with your bare hands. Or maybe just don't go to places that put you in close contact with thousands of other people.

Stay alert when traveling

As I mentioned before, Neptune's retrograde space tendencies mean it's important for travelers to remain vigilant during this time.

"Because Neptune rules the pineal gland, our sleeping habits or sleep/wake cycles may often be disrupted," notes medical astrology website Greek Medicine. "Accidents can also occur during Neptune transits, and often involve something unusual, impossible or bizarre."

You can only control yourself, so you may also want to consider that this brain fog can also affect the person flying your plane, driving your taxi, or operating your train.

Don’t overindulge while on vacation

If you have any addiction issues, or have a tendency to become addicted, it's important to be careful during Neptune retrograde.

Horoscope style recommends avoiding drugs, chemicals, stimulants, addictive personalities, spiritual attractions, and overwhelming people and places that may drain your energy.

"[Neptune] is associated with pain and sacrifice, religious feeling and compassion," the website states. "It is our psyche or borderless experience of addiction, hallucinations, delusions, deception, scandal and glamour. It is the collective fantasy and desire.”

Additionally, the King of Astrology warns that while you may feel the need to run away, Neptune retrograde is not the time to do so.

"The pain-relieving hormones released in the brain are addictive, so over time you can easily escape reality more often and for less important reasons," Astrology King notes. "You may take advantage of Illness to gain sympathy or to escape the harsh realities of life. Perhaps you are more susceptible to confusion and deception than most people, or tend to get involved in intrigues and scandals.”

So while having a hot love affair with a foreign diplomat while backpacking in Europe may seem like a good idea, it's likely to backfire and come back to bite you.

When is not a good time to travel while Neptune is retrograde?

Neptune goes retrograde for five months each year, so stopping all travel activity is unrealistic. However, it's a good idea to be aware of some of the human foibles that can derail your plans and could save your sanity.

However, Mercury is retrograde from August 24 to September 19, while Neptune is still retrograde. Personally, I would avoid large trips during this time as you get the double whammy of potential travel issues, such as tired people operating vehicles that may have mechanical issues.

And, with Neptune overpowering your emotions, you'll likely be in tears as you sit on the tarmac for four hours wishing you'd stayed home.
