EasyJet's new rules mean you may not be able to use your laptop during a flight

Traveling can be stressful under the best of circumstances, especially with air travel and the ever-changing hodgepodge of increasingly strict rules and regulations. The latest information on what you can and can't do is pretty shocking, especially if your main reliance is your keyboard and your Apple. Because EasyJet may prevent you from using your Macbook during the flight.

Did you just scream into your pillow? Or is it just me? Because guys, this is a nightmare. Especially if you're like me and have really perfected the whole "download tons of TV series to marathon while being trapped in a steel tube in the sky" thing. Guys, it's not just about turning on the power, it's also about charging. So when you land, you can't even build up battery power to have fun.

This new rule doesn't seem to apply to every Macbook, though. This is only relevant to certain models with allegedly faulty batteries. EasyJet explained in a statement on its website that the move was related to a report by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

“Based on EASA guidance for a limited number of older-generation 15-inch MacBook Pro units supplied by Apple Inc. between September 2015 and February 2017, we advise customers not to power on or charge these units during flight unless replaced Battery."

In the report, EASA recommended airlines impose sanctions on the use of the equipment. Is this my laptop model? Why, of course it is, stop being funny. But it's not just EasyJet that has banned the device, Business Insider has also compiled a list of other airlines that have banned the device so you can check if you're affected.

This is the icing on the cake for easyJet’s already very strict rules and regulations when it comes to hand luggage. The airline has a policy of only taking one bag, unless you pay extra for a second bag or, shockingly, check one bag. It's like the height of Bhuj in 2019.

The budget airline was founded in 1995 and has a long history of providing customers with affordable air travel, according to its website. However, like many budget airlines, these cheap flights come with few benefits. As all frequent flyers know, just follow the rules. Researching the baggage rules (in case you were wondering, their hand luggage size limit is 56x45x25cm) and making sure you don't book a flight too late in the day in case of delays is key. However, for many people, airlines are problematic. It's stressful for everyone involved, but it also makes for great television. Guys, they went there with Airline, a reality show about easyJet cabin crew, passengers and all the drama that surrounds them. The drama was broadcast from 1998 to 2006 and is a suspenseful drama.
