This might be the most Instagrammable place in the world — and you’ve never heard of it

If you're like me, your travel bucket list is probably as long as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - aka, long . But you can't blame us: Travel can be addictive. Once you get a taste of it, it's hard not to put the entire world on your list of places you plan to visit next. That said, your list is about to get a little longer because I’m going to tell you about the most beautiful, Instagrammable places in the world that you’ve probably never heard of before. Enter: Bigol Falls in southwestern Romania.

This natural wonder is called "Izvorul Bigăr" and is located in Kalash-Severin County, south of the Anina Mountains in Romania. It's worth noting that the falls are also located exactly on the 45th parallel, a circle of latitude known as the midpoint between the North Pole and the equator. Due to its rare appearance, it is actually considered a protected area in Romania by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. So, you know, it's got a lot of cool stuff.

And, it's literally just one of the most gorgeous things on the planet. Let's see:

Tell me you're not looking for flights to Romania yet. You can't, because you totally are.

I mean, seriously, how come this place hasn't hit the mainstream yet? This is one of the most unique waterfalls I've ever seen - sure, I haven't seen many waterfalls in this time, but I feel like I've seen enough to confirm that this is definitely the most beautiful.

You see, it’s even more beautiful in the winter when it’s completely frozen! Of course, you wouldn't want to be in water that's cold enough to freeze the waterfall, but it'll still look beautiful.

The best part of all this? Although Big Falls is considered one of the most unique and beautiful waterfalls in the world, it remains relatively under the radar for most visitors, especially those from the United States. So if you take a European trip to Romania to see this natural wonder, you might technically be considered a trendsetter by your friends and Instagram followers. Alternatively, you can go to Romania, which is a beautiful country in its own right - Brasov in the Transylvania region looks like an old fairy tale rather than a reality you can go to on your own place in life.

So, how to get to Bigol Falls, you ask? It's actually pretty simple: If you head to the nearest city, Timisoara, the falls are only about 2 1/2 to 3 hours away by car, depending on traffic. The waterfall happens to be located just off the road, so you only have to walk a few minutes to see it. Luckily, Timisoara has its own international airport, served by major airlines such as United and Lufthansa, as well as Europe's largest airlines such as Ryanair and Vizal Airlines, so getting there is a breeze.

Need more convincing? I doubt it, but I personally would like to see more photos of this thing, so anyway:
