Taylor Swift's title as Easter egg queen remains unchallenged. The singer is set to release her highly anticipated 11th studio album , The Tortured Poets Department , on April 19, and she's been teasing the upcoming release with her favorite album, "13."
For Swift, the number 13 has been important since childhood. As she previously explained, she was born on December 13, 1989, turning 13 on Friday the 13th, and her debut album went gold within 13 weeks, while her first Billboard Hot 100 number one 1 "Our Song" ranked 13th. -Second introduction.
She's back on the numbers ahead of the new album's release. On April 6, 13 days before the book's release, she shared a video of herself typing on a typewriter, "13 days until Torture Poet Department."
One day later, on April 7, SiriusXM launched a dedicated Swift broadcast channel called Channel 13 (Taylor's version). The channel will air 24 hours a day, seven days a week in North America and feature songs from Swift's entire catalog, including "From the Vault" tracks and live recordings.
"The channel's 13th day, Friday, April 19, coincides with the release of Taylor Swift's new album , The Tortured Poets Department ," reads a SiriusXM press release. “Channel 13 (Tyler’s version) will be playing the entire album from start to finish all weekend long.”
This latest in a series of Easter eggs hasn't gone unnoticed by fans. "Taylor will never let go of number 13," one Swift joked on X (formerly Twitter). Another wrote: "Tyler got his own Sirius station on April 7th, number 13. We win."
Swift first announced "The Tortured Poets Department" at the 2024 Grammy Awards on February 4 after winning Best Pop Vocal Album.
Swift said in her acceptance speech that she had just won the 13th Grammy Award, "I want to say thank you to the fans and tell you a secret that I have been hiding from you for the past two years, which is my new album. It's going to be released on April 19th. It's called "The Tortured Poets Ministry." I'm going to post the cover now. Thank you!
