This article explains how to find the Media Access Control (MAC) address on your iPhone.
If you're connected to a Wi-Fi network, your MAC address will be listed next to other relevant details, such as your phone's IP address and network password. Here's the easiest way to get there:
Open settings .
Click Wi-Fi .
Click (i) next to the Wi-Fi network you are using.
Your MAC address is listed in the Wi-Fi address field.
If the Private Address switch is turned on, the Wi-Fi Address field will display a unique MAC address used only for the current Wi-Fi network. To see your phone's real MAC address, turn this switch off.
If you're not currently connected to Wi-Fi, you can still find your iPhone's MAC address through the About area in the Settings app. That's it:
Open Settings and click General .
Click About .
Scroll down to the Wi-Fi address field. This is your MAC address.
Even if Private Addressing is turned on, the address you see here is your real MAC address.
On iPhone, Wi-Fi address and MAC address have the same meaning. A MAC address is a unique number used to identify a network device. Although there are multiple ways to change the MAC address in some cases, they are designed to be static and unique.
Apple uses the term "Wi-Fi address" because your iPhone has a "Private Address" feature designed to improve security and privacy. While your phone does have a unique MAC address that never changes, turning on the Private Address feature causes your phone to use a different address for each Wi-Fi network. This makes it harder for network administrators to track your activity on the network.
Since your iPhone can use multiple MAC addresses, it's important to note whether you have the Private Address feature turned on. If your network administrator asks you for your MAC address and you have Private Addresses turned on, remember to look for unblocked addresses in Settings > General > About.
Use the Google Home app on your iPhone to set up Chromecast and find the MAC address. After connecting the Chromecast, select it from your Google Home. Click Settings > Device Information > and find your Chromecast's MAC address under Technical Information .
If you need the Chromecast's MAC address to connect the device to the network, first connect it to a personal hotspot on another device. Follow the initial steps to set up Chromecast in the Google Home app on your main iPhone. Click + (plus sign) > Set up device > New device . When you reach the Connect to Wi-Fi screen , select More > Show Mac Address .
