Enter Quiet Mode, a recently launched feature on Instagram that silences your notifications at any time so you can eliminate distractions from social media apps without going into full hermit mode. Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced Quiet Mode in Reel on January 19, 2023, in which he explained that the tool allows you to set your account to Quiet Mode during "times of the day or week when you don't want to use it." Mosseri claims in Reel that once you exit quiet mode, the app will compile a summary of all notifications so you don't miss anything, although the feature doesn't appear to be available as of March 9. How to turn on Instagram quiet mode
Setting your account to quiet mode is easy, you just need to know where to look. To use Instagram's Quiet Mode feature, you need to do the following:
- Open the Instagram app and navigate to your profile.
- Click on the three-line icon in the upper right corner.
- Select "Settings."
- Select Notifications.
- Select "Silent Mode"
- Turn on Quiet Mode, then set the time you want it to turn on and off.
Once you've done this, a badge will appear on your account, visible only to you, indicating that you're in quiet mode. If you want to turn off the feature before the specified time, don't worry - you can always follow the steps above and turn off Quiet Mode.
