No matter what adventure you decide to take on this summer, this little camera should be at the top of your list.
Insta360 GO cameras have always been known for their small size, but the latest version is not only smaller, but also has greatly enhanced functionality.
In an announcement sent to Lifewire, Insta360 launched the Insta360 GO 3S action camera. This is a 4K camera with a magnetic stand that weighs only 1.04 ounces. Compared to the Insta360 GO 3, the Go 3S gets some new features and enhancements, including upgrading to 4K video from the previous version's 2.7K.
The Go 3S does weigh slightly more than its predecessor, at about 0.02 ounces; without the scale, that might not be enough to notice. However, the new CPU balances this out, with Insta360 promising 50% more computing power and 30fps faster capture rates.
The GO 3S also comes with a new wide-angle lens and MegaView FOV, which Insta360 says "provides a more realistic look with less distortion and straighter, clearer edges." The GO 3S supports Dolby Vision HDR and also includes slow-motion upgrades, so you can Capture up to 200 fps in 1080p or 100 fps in 2.7K.
Another cool feature of the GO 3S is the ability to automatically capture video footage over a period of time. For example, you can use interval video mode to set the frequency and length of video clips, and the device will automatically capture video at those intervals.
The GO 3S is also more waterproof. Now you can shoot it up to 33 feet, compared to the GO 3's 16 feet. GO 3S is compatible with Apple Find My and features AI gesture control, allowing you to use gestures to start or stop shooting. Finally, if you want to change the aspect ratio of your video, you can simply rotate your GO 3S horizontally or vertically.
Insta360 GO 3S is available for purchase worldwide. You can buy it in a standard package that includes the camera and action case, magnet pendant, simple clip, pivot mount, and lens guard. The GO 3S comes in a 64GB model for $400, or you can upgrade to a 128GB model for $430. Or, if you already own a GO 3, you can upgrade to the GO 3S as a standalone camera, without accessories, for $240 or $270 respectively.
