This iPhone tool makes it easy to mute unknown callers, search for saved passwords, and more

Your iPhone has more features than you've probably ever used, but with that comes a problem - the Settings app is overcrowded. As each new feature is added, toggles are added to or adjusted in Settings. Every time I need to access an infrequently used setting, I find myself browsing through multiple pages, even when I use the excellent search feature in the iPhone Settings app. If you find this frustrating, try SCSettings. This shortcut provides easy access to useful iPhone settings such as wifi, Bluetooth, shutdown and restart options, controls for muting unknown callers, and more.

Set SCSettings

Setting up this shortcut is very simple. First, open Apple's Shortcuts app, which is your iPhone's automation hub. Next, download SCSettings from RoutineHub. This is a third-party website that acts as a gallery of some of the best shortcuts. Click Get shortcut and follow the on-screen instructions.

After installing the shortcut, open the Shortcuts app and switch to the Shortcuts tab. Tap and hold SCSettings , select Share , then tap Add to Home Screen . This will make the shortcut run like an application. You can even drag it to the dock at the bottom of the screen for easier access.

Using SCSettings on iPhone

Click the SCSettings icon on your iPhone's home screen to launch the shortcut, then select any on-screen option to toggle various settings. That's all the shortcut can do:

  • Toggle wifi : This turns off wifi completely. You can't do this from the control center, which will just disconnect the wifi without turning off the radio.

  • Toggle Bluetooth : This turns off the Bluetooth radio. As with WiFi, you can't do this through the Control Center.

  • Mute unknown callers : Automatically mute all calls from unknown numbers.

  • VPN Settings Menu : Allows you to access the following VPN settings: Switch VPN, Switch Connect on Demand, and VPN Settings.

  • Restart device : Ask for confirmation and restart your iPhone.

  • Shut down : Ask for confirmation and shut down your iPhone.

  • Search Passwords : Allows you to search iCloud Keychain for saved passwords.

  • Settings shortcuts : Allows you to easily access the following settings:

  1. iPhone analysis

  2. Application Privacy Report

  3. iCloud Private Relay

  4. Hide my email

  5. Detection time

  6. Personal Hotspot

  7. Clear Safari website data

  8. Switch camera format

  9. Save settings

  10. battery settings

  11. Airdrop settings

Once you get used to this shortcut, you'll find yourself using it all the time. It has become a mainstay on my iPhone because my job requires me to adjust settings frequently. Once you place SCSettings prominently on your iPhone home screen, you'll love it.

Sometimes a shortcut may ask you for permission to send certain values. These are safe to allow, and they let the shortcut determine which option you selected and take you to the appropriate Settings page. The great thing about SCSettings is that it works with the options you already have on your iPhone and makes them more accessible.
