How to delete multiple friends on Snapchat

what to know

  • The only way to delete multiple friends on Snapchat is to delete each friend individually.
  • Click on profile picture> My Friends > Tap and hold on friends > Manage friends > Delete friends > Delete .
  • You can also bring up the "Manage Friend Relationships" option by selecting a friend from the chat screen.

This article explains how to delete friends on Snapchat for Android and iOS.

There are some tricks to achieve this, but they all end up in the same place: the "Manage Friendships" menu. You can find removal options here.

One way to do this is to look up someone on your My Friends list, which works even if you haven't messaged that person recently.

If you have a lot of old friends to clean up, or you need to find users, go this route.

  1. Select your Bitmoji/profile image in the upper left corner.

  2. Choose my friends .

  3. Search or scroll to the friend you want to delete, then touch and hold the friend's entry.

Note the three-dot menu at the top. There is an option to view recently added friends. This is a great way to remove the user you just added by mistake.

  4. Select Manage Friend Relationships > Delete Friend > Delete from the options.

If you want to unfriend someone you've recently taken a photo with, start from the Chat screen to save time. This area is where all your uncleared conversations take place, so it's a good idea to delete the friend you just chatted with here.

Similar to the steps above, tap and hold on the username to see the same options as step 4 above. Go to "Manage Friendships" to find the "Delete Friends" option.

Can't. Snapchat does not allow you to delete two or more friends in bulk. Unfortunately, the process for clearing your friend list or removing 2, 10, or 20 people from your account is the same: follow the steps above to remove one friend at a time.

The only exception is if you delete your entire Snapchat account. Technically, this is the fastest way to delete all of your Snapchat friends at once, but your username will be gone along with your Snap and chat history.

There's no existing "Deleted Friends" list in the Snapchat app, you can filter to easily add old friends.

However, it's still very easy to add people on Snapchat, even users you've deleted. Click this link to learn how to add people from your contact list or by username or Snapcode.

That said, if you really need a list of deleted friends, download the data from Snapchat. This includes not only your current friends list, but also deleted friends, blocked users, hidden friend suggestions, and more.

One way to tell if someone has blocked you on Snapchat is if you can't find them. This is most likely to happen if you deleted a friend but then couldn't add them again.

If you deleted someone but they keep bugging you to add them as a friend, you can simply block them on Snapchat.

If users keep sending you messages but you don't want to block them completely, you can change your privacy settings via this link so that only friends can contact you.

FAQ
  • Won't. They won't know you've unfriended them unless they check their friends list or try to send you a snap.

  • You can manually scroll through your friends list, or try searching for the person. If their profile doesn't show up at all, they will either block you or close their account.

  • You can't manually change your best friends list on Snapchat. If you want someone to disappear from your list of best friends, interact less with them and increase your interaction with the other person you want to replace them with.
