How to fix no matches issue on Bumble

It might be fun to hop on Bumble and start swiping right on the profiles of people you think you might like. Unfortunately, if no one swipes right on your profile, you won't get any matches.

Before you give up on Bumble and choose another free dating site, read on to learn why no one is matching with you and what you can do about it.

There are four common reasons for not receiving matches on Bumble:

  • Your profile is not filled out correctly : You have left many details blank, which prevents your profile from being displayed to the most relevant users. Maybe you only have one or two photos that don’t show off your appearance, so it doesn’t grab the user’s attention enough and they end up swiping left to pass.
  • Your settings are configured incorrectly : You can select up to two filters (with a free account) to help you find the most relevant matches. You can also expand or reduce the distance between the profile locations you see.
  • You're picky about who you swipe right : You might be missing out on matches without even realizing it because you're just swiping right on the best of the best profiles you come across.
  • You're Not a Good Fit for Bumble : Bumble users are generally looking for a serious relationship, so if your profile shows the opposite, that might explain why you're being ignored.

If you filled out your Bumble profile quickly or skipped it entirely, try the following:

  1. In the Profile tab, click your picture and select Edit Profile .

  2. Make sure your profile is verified, as some users can choose not to view unverified accounts. If your Bumble account is unverified, click Verify my profile .

You'll be asked to upload a photo of yourself making a specific gesture.

  3. Upload your own high-quality photos and aim to fill all six slots.

Choose photos of yourself smiling in different settings and avoid any group photos or photos where your face is hidden (avoid wearing sunglasses, shadows, etc.).

  4. Scroll down the settings page to the Prompts section and click Add Prompt . Answering these questions will help highlight your personality.

You can only display three prompts at a time, but you can also try different prompts by swapping them out to see if one increases your chances of getting a match.

  5. Complete everything in the "Biography , " "About You ," and "More About You" sections. For some people, an empty resume is a red flag, and the more potential matches can immediately get to know you (by filling out these sections), the better!

It is important to choose the most relevant filters for your profile search so that the correct profiles are displayed for you (and vice versa). You may also consider expanding your desired age range and distance to expand your reach.

  1. From the Matches tab, select the Filter button at the top.

  2. In the "Dating Basics" tab, make sure you select the right type of person you're looking for. I'm open to dating everyone, it's the widest net you can cast, but you can be more specific depending on what you're after.

  3. The age filter is one filter you should not ignore. Use the slider to select Low and High Age, and optionally select the toggle button to see people two years younger or two years older than your selection.

  4. Distance is another important parameter that can increase your matches on Bumble. Determine the furthest distance you're willing to match, or swipe the distance to the right if you think you've run out of nearby users.

  5. Switch to the "Advanced Filters" tab and click "Add this filter" next to any filter to narrow down what you can match.

If you're worried about bots and think that's why you're not getting matches, open Verified Profiles to only view people who have completed the verification process.

  6. Once you've finished editing these settings, select Apply at the bottom.

The only way to correct super picky or strict swiping habits is to relax a little and be more generous with the right swiping patterns. Remember, doing this just opens the door to communication - you don't necessarily need to do anything else if you find that the match isn't working out. If you stop communicating, it will eventually expire.

You may also be interested in using Bumble SuperSwipes on certain profiles, which can increase your chances of a match. SuperSwipes are a premium feature you can offer to your profile to let them know you really like them.

It's important to understand that the majority of Bumble users are using the platform to make meaningful connections that ultimately lead to serious commitment. If this isn't what you're looking for, and your profile reflects this, you might consider trying other popular dating apps.

You may find that dating isn't really what you want. If you're not interested in dating right now, Bumble includes a dating app, but we also recommend other dating apps.
