The third season of Bridgerton has been a long time coming, and it might be a while longer, according to an actor. Adjoa Andoh, who plays Lady Danbury, recently told Digital Spy The next installment has been "in the works for a while" and will debut next year.
Until then, fans have been busy theorizing - with nothing more than photo shoots, vague plot teases, and, of course, their own imaginations.
Now, a new Reddit theory suggests a promising development: Benedict's love interest may be introduced in season 3, though the issue will be mostly dedicated to #Polin (aka Penelope and Colin).

User u/PhilosopherFancy3636 suggested that Sophie, Benedict's love interest in the Bridgerton novels, could be Heloise's maid in season three - referencing the Netflix plot synopsis, which says Heloise is "in a Found a new friend in a very unlikely place”.
In Benedict's book (mild spoilers ahead), he first meets Sophie at a costume party. u/PhilosopherFancy3636 suggested that "Héloïse struck up a friendship with the aforementioned maid and got tired of being alone at the ball" possibly taking Sophie to the Bridgerton Ball.
Or, the user suggested, "The maid made a comment saying she wanted to know what the ball looked like," and Eloise obliged. Both situations ended with Benedict falling in love, they wrote.
Some fans expressed support for this theory in the comments, with u/plumpoof writing that it would be "so sweet" for Héloïse and Sophie to strike up a friendship first, since she and Benedict are so close themselves.
Sophie's Sneaky Introduction
If you're someone who keeps up with Bridgerton theories, you'll know that fans have believed Sophie would be Heloise's maid for some time. It all goes back to the first episode of season 2, when Anthony says the house needs to hire a new helper for his sister—one who's "even more strong-willed than the last one."
If these theories hold true, Bridgerton may have been quietly arranging Sophie's introduction behind the scenes. Season three, then, would be the perfect time to bring her to the fore.
The book says...
It turns out there is some support for u/PhilosopherFancy3636's theory in Benedict Bridgerton 's book A Gentleman's Proposal. While Sophie didn't start out as Heloise's friend or maid, she did work for the Bridgerton family at one point.
While the order of events is different (in the books, Benedict offers Sophie the job after meeting her), the show has changed details of the Bridgerton timeline before - so this change isn't It would be a huge stretch.
