The November full moon arrives in the multitasking constellation Gemini on November 27, 2023, at 4:16 a.m. Eastern Time (1:16 a.m. Pacific Time). Also known as the Beaver Moon, it prompts us to improve our skills and seek understanding of the world around us. In the meantime, with Sagittarius Season in full force, we can expect the universe to stimulate our curiosity and prompt us to transform into new and improved versions of ourselves.
"November's Full Moon in Gemini will give us a chance to work through the mental and emotional turmoil that's been plaguing us," says astrologer Tameri Ater.
Gemini is the sign of communication, logic, and travel (yes, this includes exploration of the soul). Curious air signs always like to try different hats. It’s exciting to see situations from a different perspective.
Full moons heighten our emotions, and November's Beaver Moon prompts us to find balance between our hearts and minds. Here's how to make the most of this new moon of open-mindedness.
Do: Let go of outdated beliefs
Because the Full Moon is the closing moment of the lunar cycle, these phases are a time to release whatever is holding us back or holding us back.
Geminis are thought generators, and when your thoughts are aligned with your core values, your beliefs will evolve. “There will be a theme of letting go of old ways of thinking in order to achieve spiritual evolution and growth,” Art said.
DON’T: Forget your spiritual practice
"Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is in Sagittarius during the full moon, forming an exact square to Neptune in Pisces," Art said.
Whenever planets square each other, it indicates tension and conflict. Mercury rules the mind, and Neptune rules our imagination, so your dreams and current circumstances are likely to conflict.
Ultimately, it’s an opportunity for us to calm down. "Think of it as an opportunity to practice the art of presence and mindfulness. Even in chaotic moments, you can always find peace," Art said. Take care of your mental health and the rest will follow.
Do: Seek knowledge
A full moon can send our emotions into overdrive. However, with the Moon in Gemini, the brain trust, we will seek understanding without losing logic.
"Mercury in Gemini rules practical knowledge, and Jupiter in Sagittarius rules spiritual knowledge," Art says. Both come into play here.
What's more, the Sun, Moon and Mars are squaring strict Saturn, the planet of discipline and hard work. "There may be some limitations or lessons to be learned so that we can move forward," Art said. "Keep an eye out."
DON’T: Get unstable
While Geminis are great at juggling a million things at once, they tend to be fickle when it comes to commitments. It doesn't help that Sagittarius season is the season of travel and adventure. "There are a lot of variables with three planets in Sagittarius and the moon in air sign Gemini," Art says.
Your attention will be drawn to a lot of things, so try to keep up! You’ll do a lot of good by staying organized, making a plan, and skipping commitments you know you’ll end up dreading.
DO: Brave Conflict
Since a major theme of November's Beaver Month is letting go of old ways of thinking, there are bound to be naysayers who resent your new ideals, hobbies, or habits. Don’t forget, whatever you post under this full moon is intentional. Sagittarius season is here to promote your growth.
"This could be through an event or even a conflict, since the full moon signifies climax and ending, and action planet Mars is right next to the sun," Art said.
Mars is an aggressive planet, and since it's in Sagittarius, you'll handle conflict with more confidence. That said, be careful about how you express yourself—you don't want to go overboard.
DON’T: Distract yourself
Sagittarius season and the energetic Full Moon will keep us busy, but be careful about how you manage your time. These conditions are ripe for burnout.
Action-oriented Mars squares dreamer Neptune, creating the potential for fights when it comes to work and our boundaries. "In addition to communication, Mercury is involved in things that can be confusing: travel, business and driving," Art says.
Of course, a full moon will push you to take action, but slowing down is also an important part of getting closer to your goals.
Do: Increase productivity
Geminis are called multitaskers for a reason: Twins are quick on their feet, and similarly, we feel the burst of energy from air signs.
“Fire energy is great for getting work done quickly, so use it to increase your productivity,” Art says. “This is a great time to better coordinate spiritual practices, read, write, study, or learn about different cultures.”
As 2023 comes to an end, check off the items on your to-do list and get a head start as the new year approaches.
