Ten years ago, Steve Carell lumbered into our hearts and made us laugh. In 2005, he began playing Michael Scott on NBC's "The Office," and then in the summer he starred in Judd Apatow's sex comedy "The 40-Year-Old Virgin." As the movie turns a decade old, I want to point out that there are a lot of people in "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" that I forgot about - co-stars from Carell's Office , veteran actors from Apatow, There's even the comedian's wife. There is a cameo. This is truly a star-studded film.
The film was a hit upon its release, with several classic lines ("Kelly Clarkson!") and a "Fresh" score of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. The American Motion Picture Association named "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" one of the best movies of 2005. Carell, who co-created the film with Apatow, centers on the lovable Andy (played by Carell), who reveals that he is, well, a 40-year-old virgin. Colleagues and friends at the electronics store where he worked decided to help him lose his virginity. Hilarity is sure to ensue. This story would make Carell and Apatow superstars. In 2005, Carell told IGN about his daughter's reaction to the movie's billboard: "I was driving around with my four-year-old daughter, and she kept asking me, 'Why are you on that billboard? You look stupid.' "
