TikTok users are filming themselves getting ready for grocery stores and supermarkets. I'm fascinated

When Get Ready With Me (GRWM) videos first took over YouTube a few years ago, you would typically watch your favorite creators dress up for the night. The makeup is stunning, the hair is unique, and the clothes are beautiful. Today, GRWM has migrated from YouTube to TikTok, and the content has gone from charming pregame debriefings to a regular part of daily life. In fact, content types have become so casual that creators are now making GRWM for things as mundane as going to the grocery store.

TikTok loves to remind us that we should always romanticize our lives, so it was only a matter of time before we started sprucing up household chores with grocery store GRWM. While it's definitely a watered-down version of the content you're used to consuming on YouTube, at least you don't have to worry about users setting unrealistic standards of appearance when shopping for groceries. Instead, creators jumped on the trend and showed off their most basic errand attire, from the SKIMS they chose to the bags they used. So even if you've watched hours of GRWM content in the past just to see your favorite beauty influencers get slapped in the face, you'll probably find the laid-back show just as comforting and relaxing.

For example, user @skyleeerna chose a pair of black leggings, a black tank top, a teal sweater and a leopard print bag while going to the supermarket. The video is only 13 seconds long, but the user manages to make a mundane chore exciting by dancing to the music and having a good time. Not to mention, the fast cuts and high energy almost keep the audience motivated to run to the grocery store as well. almost.

Meanwhile, @samantha.janessa stayed neutral as she documented her daily shopping before heading to the grocery store. Dressed in an oatmeal oversized sweater, cream pants and Uggs, the creator was ready to pack some groceries.

User @yonasouffir kept the cozy vibe going by completing the outfit with cargo pants, low-cut Uggs, layers of sweaters, and a large black scarf.

Not surprisingly, TikTok has turned this trend into a leisure activity. Think about it: In the age of YouTube, creators have to set up a camera and a ring light (or two) to film their content. Nowadays, all you need is a phone and some TikTok editing skills to get started.

Remember, you don't have to wear tracksuits and flip-flops on your grocery store run to join this trend. @Ashleynicoleirl paired a black tee with a white maxi skirt and a black purse for a classy yet casual look that's perfect for running errands.

By the way, some users do put on a full face of makeup before going grocery shopping. That being said, makeup is not the focus of the video, like GRWM on YouTube.

If TikTok has taught us anything, it’s that we should all be adding more romance to our lives. If making a video is enough to find motivation to go to the grocery store, then I'm sold.
