Valentine's Day is just around the corner and with love in the air, Marks & Spencer is bringing us our favorite caterpillars, Colin and Connie, making a comeback on the big day. The iconic caterpillar cake will get a rather romantic makeover, with decorative milk chocolate hearts and heart-shaped icing sugar covering the body of the Swiss roll.
Last year, caterpillar cake fans could buy both Colin and Connie for Valentine's Day, but this year, not only can you buy Colin and Connie together, but M&S is also offering same-sex pairings.
That's right, as part of LGBTQ+ History Month you can now buy two Connies or two Colins for just £10 as part of Marks & Spencer's Valentine's Day range. The products are currently available in-store and online at marksandspencer.com.
M&S has launched these new same-sex bundles in an effort to become a more inclusive brand, with its Valentine's Day range also including cards aimed at same-sex couples, making them less gender-specific.
This isn't the first time M&S has given its caterpillar cake a makeover for the Fourth of July. For Mother's Day 2021, the retailer launched a limited-edition "Flower Power" Caterpillar Connie cake, which was a huge hit. During Christmas, Colin the Caterpillar gets a festive makeover to add to the Christmas spirit.
So if you're looking for a Valentine's Day gift for a loved one, or just want a piece of cake for yourself, be sure to get your Colin the Caterpillar and/or Connie the Caterpillar combo in time for the big day.
