The Queen is selling a new gin perfect for summer beers

Our range of royally approved tipples continues to grow as Her Majesty the Queen launches yet another must-have gin from her Buckingham Palace gardens (just in time for summer soirées). Following last year’s launch of the hugely popular Buckingham Palace Gin and Sandringham Gin, the latest ‘Sloe Gin’ is said to be fruity and aromatic and is available to buy now.

Buckingham Palace Sloe Gin is available for £30 via the Royal Collection Shop – though, given Palace Gin’s past popularity, I’d act quickly.

The company says on its website that the latest batch contains "hand-picked sloe berries" soaked in classic Buckingham Palace gin, which is said to have a "unique and intense fruit flavour".

For the avid gin connoisseurs among us, the taste of Sloe Gin is described as "medium sweet" with "flavor notes of plum, marzipan, and citrus fruit bitterness, followed by gin." Pine nuts and ginger spices .

The palace also recommends gin lovers try the 'Sloe Royale' cocktail, which sounds like it will be a hit at bank holiday garden parties. All you need is a fluted glass, some champagne or sparkling wine, and of course some fresh berries (the recipe is on the website).

This isn't the first time the palace has tempted us to drink Dubonnet - after all, the Queen's drink of choice is reportedly Dubonnet gin.

Bustle has been keeping an eye out for (and stocking up on) the Queen's gin launch. They launched Buckingham Palace Premium Small Batch London Dry Gin in summer 2020, with ingredients including lemon verbena, hawthorn berries, bay leaves and mulberry leaves. They followed this up with the launch of Sandringham Gin last November, distilled in a barn on Her Majesty’s beloved 60-acre country estate in Norfolk.

Before you rush to check out, it's worth noting that due to current shipping restrictions, Buckingham Palace Sloe Gin is currently only available for UK delivery.
