If you post a dance on TikTok this weekend, you can get a $1 Big Mac

Tik Tok dancers, burger addicts, bargain hunters, gather! Starting today, you can earn a $1 Whopper if you post a TikTok dance. In the end, the time you spend learning how to throw it back pays off.

Burger King has teamed up with TikTok to offer a $1 Whopper promotional code to users who watch a video of themselves doing the Whopper dance. What is the Whopper Dance, you ask? As the name suggests, it's a song and dance dedicated to the Whopper. Burger King has recruited some of the most popular TikTok creators to help promote the campaign. You can see Loren Gray, Nathan Davis Jr., and Avani — who have more than 73 million followers combined — shaking their bacon, handles Eat cheese on your lap. (Yes, those are the actual lyrics to the song. Late-stage capitalism is shaking your ass for free burgers.)

If you want to get a $1 Whopper promo code, you need to do the following:

  • Learn to dance. It's pretty self-explanatory because the song tells you what to do.
  • Post your Whopper Dance TikTok using Whopper Dance Audio. Make sure your TikTok includes the hashtag #WhopperDance
  • Make sure you follow Burger King on TikTok
  • Wait for the King to slide into your DMs.

Anyone who follows these steps will receive a direct message from Burger King with a code for a $1 Whopper. You have until Sunday, June 21st to post your Whopper Dance, and your $1 Whopper coupon is valid until Sunday, June 28th.

Once you get your promo code, you can pick up your Whopper at your local Burger King or use the Burger King app to have your Whopper delivered to your door. (If you order through the app, you'll get free shipping through July 5 with a minimum order of $10.) You can only get one coupon/one $1 Whopper. If you're going to shake it from here to get some bacon forever, I'm sorry.

"We are investing in digital channels and are always looking for innovative ways to engage with our guests," Jorge Luiz R. Oliveira, Burger King's director of corporate media and social channels, said in a press release, which is a marketing term. Said: "Hello everyone, fellow teenagers, The King is now a TikToker."

Burger King isn't the first food chain to use TikTok for promotions. In August 2019, Chipotle launched the #GuacDance challenge, encouraging creators to post their own interpretations of the dance and win free guacamole. To date, TikTok with the hashtag #GuacDance has been viewed a billion times.

If you missed your chance to "pee the avocado" for free guacamole, you still have time to grab a Whopper. There are already over 150 videos tagged #WhopperDance, and the competition just started today. It's best to start stretching.
