A week before the new season of the reality show premieres, CBS has announced the cast for Love Island Season 2, introducing a new group of singles who will try to find love and compete for a $100,000 cash prize. The two-hour second season premiere on Aug. 24 will introduce 11 singles as "Islanders," including several personal trainers, a shopping channel model, a legal secretary and an auditor. The Islanders have been dating virtually for the past few months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but new episodes will take place in a closed "bubble" at a Las Vegas villa, according to a press release Shot on location.
"Love Island USA" is adapted from the British TV series of the same name. A group of "islanders" gather in a secluded place and must work hard to win each other's support and impress domestic audiences. To remain in the competition, each cast member must be paired with another contestant, whether for "love, friendship, or survival," and every few days, unpaired islanders risk being kicked off the island . However, the real drama occurs when new contestants arrive on the island, disrupting alliances and romantic relationships and raising the stakes throughout the season. In addition, contestants must win over the audience, who, according to a press release, will "shape events on screen and ultimately win for one lucky couple." Viewers can also get involved in the production of the show via the Love Island app and Create drama.
