Harry Styles reunion update drives One Direction fans crazy

Harry Styles appeared on the final episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden to give One Direction fans the latest news they've been waiting for. The hitmaker paid a visit to Corden's final show on The Late Show on CBS on Thursday, April 27, during a chat with show host and guest Will Ferrell During the final "Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts" segment together, Styles asked, "Yes or no, is there going to be a One Direction reunion?" to a roar of applause from the audience. The Grammy winner said he would "never say never," adding: "I think if there's a period of time where we all feel like this is what we want to do, then I don't think why we wouldn't do it."

Styles' comments quickly caught the attention of online mentors, who seemed very excited about the prospect of a 1D reunion. "Can you imagine going to a concert where they all sing each other's solo songs?" one fan wrote on Twitter.

Later in the show, the "Watermelon Sugar" performer also paid tribute to his "friend" Corden, telling the show host: "I'm incredibly proud of you. Personally, as a friend, you mean so much to me. It’s always been a safe space…I’m selfishly glad you’re home.”

This isn't the first time Styles has discussed the possibility of a One Direction reunion in recent months. The "Don't Worry Darling" star said during a 2022 appearance on the Spout podcast that he was "so excited that we all want to do this one day." He continued: "I love [these albums] so much, I Think we've been through something really special together. So, yeah, I think if there's a moment where we do it the right way, I think that would be great."

Styles' journey with One Direction began in 2010 when he auditioned for The X Factor UK as a solo artist at the age of 16. Fans may recall that Styles failed to compete as a soloist, instead competing alongside X Factor hopefuls Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Leah Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson formed a duo.

The band didn't end up winning the competition, finishing in third place, but that didn't stop them from becoming one of the most successful boy bands of all time, with hits including "What Makes You Beautiful" and "Story Of My" song. Life. "
